Video question

I am a regular poster but didn't want to use my account b/c people here know who I used as a videographer and this isn't a bad review just wanted to know if it is normal or not.
Anyway, A few weeks ago I got my edited video and it was great. I loved it. I was a little surprised b/c we had no say in the editing including the music used and I had epected to be able to choose the music. it is about 90 min. long. What they picked is wonderful though. I also ordered an unedited video which I picked up yesterday. Here's my concern. Alot of things are missing from it. Things I feel were important. The video is less than 2 hours long and ~1/2 hour of it is the ceremony. We had the video guy for 8 1/2 hours including a 4 hour reception and paid over $2,000 for less than 2 hours of video. I understand that during the reception they eat but shouldn't that have been when everyone was eating to limit the number of things missed?
What they didn't put on the unedited video-
1) Bride(me) dancing with my grandfather
2) Me dancing with my brother(groomsman)
3) Groom dancing with my mom
4) Maid of honor dancing with ring bearer.
5) It had NONE of the guests arriving at the church. We had a small bridal party so the ringbearer was assisting with guest arrival which would have been nice to see since I was not there.
****6) they cut out 1/2 of the MOH's toast.

Is this normal for an unedited wedding video? I don't want to complain if it is but it seems very unusual and like I paid alot of money for this guy to relax and party at my reception instead of work it. 1 hour of video of the cocktail hour and 4 hour reception does not seem right to me. Thanks for your help.

Re: Video question

They just didn't shoot any of it from the sound of if otherwise it would be on the raw footage. Which does kinda stink!

Our video had the parent dances, our first dance with footage of people dancing around us and all the major things. No cocktail hour footage, ceremony just was the bp going down the aisle no guests arriving stuff. Honestly didn't care to see people arriving and didn't even think to ask of it.

The toast part I would of been pissed off about but other then that i unless it was a 'spotlight' dance I wouldn't expect it to be shot. But that is me. I did have a meeting over the phone with the video guy and he asked what was really important to me - I guess you didn't have this and the company should of done that so there was no confusing on what to be shot.

Huh?? Thats odd...i would call and ask cause my first instict would be to say they didn't shoot it...but that would be awful! I understand they can't put everything into the edited version...but it should be in the raw footage i would think!

Re: Video question

I didnt get my video yet but that is odd. Seems like they missed very important moments that I personally feel SHOULD be on the video, there is no excuse for that.

Re: Video question

Can you fm me who you used? My video guy cut about a 1/4 of my MOH's toast and I also got no coverage of guests arriving. I tried getting the raw footage but he hasnt answered my emails.
