Videographer

Videographer

Hey ladies, I figured I'd ask those of you already married who i should look into for video. I was told by my photographer that an independent videographer has to be within 10 feet of the bride and sometimes gets in the way of stills unlike someone who workds for the photography studio and knows how to stay out of the way.
Was the videographer very close to you? Who do you suggest?
Thanks

Re: Videographer

I used Cassarino as my photographer and T&T Video. I decided to do them independent of each other because I felt that the videographer was a specialist in his field, just like the photographer was a specialist in his field. As for the video guy being in my face, I never noticed him -- especially up on the altar!! I was too busy hyperventilating to notice anything actually! LOL

Your photographer might have said that to you because he wants your business, but I've never heard of that before and I didn't have any problems w/my photographer and videographer. They never met before my wedding, but they got along really well and worked well w/each other. Neither one was in the way of the other and they even followed each other to the park and to my hall!!

I loved my video and highly recommend T&T. I've posted about them before. The website is www.wedding-videos.com -- check them out.

Re: Videographer

Our videographer was not that close to us...there were times he would come in closer but for the most part he stayed next to the photographer.

It wasn't a problem at all. They worked fine together. They would step out of each others way if there was a particular shot one was looking for.

We used Platinum and Patken.

Re: Videographer

My photographer and videographer were a husband/wife team, and they were not in the way at all. I only have the raw footage of my video, but it looks good. In fact, they plan it out that while my hubby and I posed for pictures, he videptaped it. It turned out really sweet because it memorialized some of the few moments that we had alone that day (that is, alone except for the photographer and videographer).

I can't remember who told me this, probably some photo/video team. When they are from the same company, they are used to working together and usually work better together (more in sync with each other, etc.).

Just another example, at my friends' wedding, they hired separately and the videographers were so intrusive it was obnoxious. They completely blocked the bride and groom during the ceremony. Except for the guests in the front row, no-one could see the couple or hear them during the ceremony.

I used JR Video and HIGHLY recommend them. I loved my edited tape. I hardly knew that he was there. I have been to weddings were they use tripods, and they get in the way of, especially if you are dancing.
