Ii know there are some vineyards that will not let large groups in. Also there are some that you need to make appointments. Doe anyone know which ones are good for groups and which ones are bad?

Re: Vinyards and large groups????
I think they're all pretty good with large groups but if you are interested we used a limo company that sets up everything for you.
I used LI Vineyard Tours about a month ago with my girls. But here is what I came across in my search:
Wineries--(this is from the e-mail I sent to my girls)
Top of the World Limo-- Total $480 (96 plus figure 20 extra for fees....116 per person) 6 hours of wineries of our choice Does not include winery fees includes gratuity and fuel charge
Legend Limos-- Total $450 (90 plus figure 20 extra for fees....100 per person) 6 hours of wineries of our choice included gratuity and fuel charge
M&V Limos-- Total $472 (94.40 plus figure 20 extra for fees.....114.40 per person) 7 hours of wineries of our choice Does not include winery fees includes gratuity and fuel charge
LI Vineyard Tours-- Total $594 (118.80 per person) 8 Hours of top of the line wineries or 5 vineyards total Includes Winery Fees Includes gratuity and fuel We could add $15 more if we want them to order lunch for us
We ended up with LI Vineyard Tours & it was: $119 each IN CASH the day of. (it was 5 people/6 passenger limo) He picked us up at 10am in Huntingtion & we went to 5 wineries Pindar Martha Clara Borghese Pugliese Macari All tasting fees paid for, gratuity included plus fuel.

How big is your group?
I just went for my sisters bachelorette party with 11 people.
We went to Martha Clara, Macari, Pindar and Pugliese. We had room at all of them and had a blast! (We did however make reservations)

Re: Vinyards and large groups????
as everyone posted above.. just call in advance and make resevations at the ones you want to go to.. they ask for a CC but you can pay cash when you get there for the entrance fee..
you should plan to spend about an 45 minutes to an hour at each one and a little more at the one where you eat lunch.. we were able to go to 4 wineries in 5 hours..
there were 11 of us..
hth!

if you are using a limo or bus company- they usually know which ones you can do and which you cant. I know that Pindar, and Osprey Dominion are good for larger groups. Also maybe try Macari- but you may need an appoinment for that one. Oh- DH and I were at Vineyard 42 (I think thats the right number) and they ahd a bus of 40 people comming- but they ahd an appointment. If I were u I would just start calling some of them.

Re: Vinyards and large groups????
We went last year with a group of about 15-20 people. We had a limo and did not know to make reservations. Well places were turning down our business. It was the craziest thing. We would walk in and they would tell us to leave since we didn't make a reservation. A few places saw the limo coming into the parking lot and would run out and tell the limo driver not to bother parking b/c they would not let us in. We couldn't believe it. We were able to find other ones that welcomed us and ended up having a good time. Definitely make reservations if you are taking a limo.
