I have to have 1 of my wisdom teeth pulled this week, I just got back from the surgeon b/c my face is swollen and my jaw is killing me.....he said it has to go Yes, I have all my wisdom teeth-but he wants the 1 out ASAP.... I hate the dentist...i hate being put to sleep....i hate it

Don't get put to sleep, let them shoot you up, you won't feel a thing.. I have a hot oral surgeon in Mineola if you want his name.. I listened to my ipod and didn;t get thru one song and it was done!!!

This is exactly why I have been avoiding going for the dentist for the past 6 month. I know mine have to come out, so I just avoid it. I probably should just do it so I don't end up with pain....hope you're feeling better!!

I had all four taken out, two at a time and they were all impacted. I was put to sleep the first time and had a bad recovery, just because I didn't eat prior and couldn't eat after, so I was popping pills on an empty stomach and ended up falling on the floor on the way to the bathroom.

The second time I had them shoot me up and the recovery was so much better, but I didn't like being in the chair awake during it, I almost had a panic attack and the dentist was going to reschedule, but I told him I would never come back so just do it and get it over with. He was really good.

I AM SO GLAD I DON'T HAVE IT GO THROUGH THAT EVER AGAIN!!!!!

If your tooth is already grown, I heard it is a better experience. Good Luck!!!!!

yea well see that is the problem...ive been putting it off and now I can lay on my right side, chew on my right side, touch the right side of my face...its horrible

oh see well...he is only taking the one now bc I really just cant take days off of work right now-we are in the beginning of our crazy season. So, he is pulling the one this week and the other 3 when I book

uh oh-its only partially in...hence why the pain-OMG I dont know I dont think I could be alive and kicking while they do this....I really dont

I had one taken out without going under and it was okay. I had the shot of novacain (lidocaine??) and the laughing gas. Honestly, if you take several deep breaths of the laughing gas you'll be out of it. Really, I am surprised the stuff is legal....

I also recommend that you wear your ipod. Sometimes, there is some 'noise' associated with pulling a tooth and you wouldn't want to hear it if you did not have to.

Also, have the doc give you a prescription for the painkiller AND a painkiller to take before you leave the office. Makes it much better when the novacain wears off if you already have it in you system.

I have a doctor in Huntington. FM if you're interested.

i had them taken out two at a time and i honestly dont think it's that bad. my two lowers were impacted and i wasnt put to sleep, just numbed. it feels kinds gross when u 'feel' the drilling, but it's over so quickly. don't worry, just hop yourself up on the percocets and u'll be fine. ( i only had to take tylenol the first day, then i was good)

The first time i had one wisdom tooth taken out and i was not asleep for it...it wasnt that bad...but i did cry afterwards lol (but im such a crybaby) Then for my other 3 wisdom teeth i was asleep which was fabulous - didnt feel a thing.

For one tooth i dont think that i would ask to be put under anethesia it wasnt too bad, you dont feel pain, you just feel lots of pressure.

get knocked out & take lots of drugs after...i had 6 wisdom teeth...yes apparently i am a freak of nature...all taken out at once years ago...i went to sleep & woke up and it was all done...there is no way in hell i could've been 'aware' or i would've freaked out....i hate anything done in or around my face! Im still trying to figure out whether to be put under or just have them stick me...im a wimp I just dont think I can be awake.

Anywho-off to toss and turn and throw a fit while I try and sleep
