Was anyone else completely disappointed by...

the lack of involvement in their wedding from their mother? I look at some of the other brides photos and read their stories and it makes me want to cry because the only thing my mother seemed to care about was her dress and how hard it was for my sister to plan my shower? Neither one of them was even interested in dress shopping for me! Anyone else feel this way?

yes, my mother acted so differently than I thought she would. She just kept saying she can't handle it. I was like handle what? But my mother had eloped, so maybe weddings just were not her thing?

Re: Was anyone else completely disappointed by...

I was a bit disappointed with my mom. But, I am very appreciative of all that she did do.

Things that annoyed me: we were having our dresses altered by the same woman. I would be standing in the fitting room half naked asking for someone to help me zip up my gown, and my mom would call the woman away to help HER with her hem...

Or, when we went for hair trials. My mom was MUCH more concerned with her own hair. I was standing their with my headpiece and veil on, and my mom was running around the shop asking the other hairdressers if they thought her hair looked okay. I was SO upset by that stuff...

I was disappointed in my MIL. I was not expecting her to really participate but I thought she would at least show some interest. She never asked me how the wedding planning was going or cared about any details I was working on.

I was ---but I know she was excited because she kept on talking about it, it was weird. I was dissapointed by my future SIL, she could care less--anyway, my friends were amazing!

Me 2, all my mother cared about was her hair and her dress and how she looked.

It was the running joke with everybody, but it really wasn't funny at all.

Re: Was anyone else completely disappointed by...

Hi,

my mom and dad walked me down the aisle. My mom did not bring down my veil correctly. So, it is sticking up in the begining part of the wedding video. She also, left the reception room, to chat with her friend, so she missed, the cake cutting, the father-daughter dance & the mother groom dance. She was in some sort of trance for the whole entire night. Really weird.
