Was the farmers almanac right?

My wedding forecast is horrible!! (Huge storms and gale force winds)

Did you look at this before your wedding? Was it correct?

Stef,

It was DEAD wrong for mine. It said it would be sunny with a slight chance of a flurries. It rained

I did. It predicted rain the week before my wedding, and it did rain, and it predicted cloudy all day, with a chance of sun. It sure was cloudy all day-which was good, no squinty eyed pics
And the sun did peek in/out all day.
Dont let it worry you, it did me. I cried for days thinking it was going to rain. You have no control of mother nature.

Sonicstef,

I thought I told all you brides not to look at the forecast!

The farmers almanac said thunderstorms for me and I CRIED ... boy, was I upset. The weather forecast for the week predicted hot but sunny day and the forecast for that morning - predicted thunderstorms at 12 (ceremony time)! None were right! It was hazy with peeks of sun (great for pictures), a bit on the warm side - BUT NO RAIN! So, I have to agree with Diane - mother nature does what she wants!

I hope it's a gorgeous day for you! I'll keep my fingers crossed!

My was wrong too... it said heavy rain... and it didn't rain at all (thank God). It wasn't very sunny but no rain either!

Gotta agree with Cira here .. forecasts can be way, way off .. even if they're given the day before!

We were supposed to have beautiful weather for our wedding last year .. there wasn't supposed to be a cloud in the sky .. that's what the radars showed.

However, when I woke up (after sunrise), it was darker than it should have been for that time in the morning .. so I knew something was very wrong! I went to the window and it was raining! Next stop was the TV and the Weather Channel. Would you believe the weather was moving totally backwards!?! A huge storm cloud was moving up from the south, and sweeping over Long Island from east to west. It was horrible!! It rained all day and into the night. (Of course, it was our wedding day, so it was beautiful .. but if it were a regular day .. it was the stay-in-bed type of day).

The weather is going to be what is it going to be. You're better off worrying about things you can control.

Stef I started crying when I saw the weather report for our wedding day...Roger had to say honey don't believe it...it will be ok...girl it did not rain and it was not partly cloudy it was sunny and hot...thank goodness they were wrong. They can't even get the weather right from one day to the next....so for them to be getting it right for weeks in advance...pleeze

Stef, don't sweat the small stuff...

The forecast for the day of my wedding was heavy rain, thunderstorms and hail likely.

When I woke up the day of, it was foggier than I ever saw fog before! (Even in San Fran! )
However, by the time we were ready for pictures in my parent's backyard, it had brightened up. While we were in church it was beautiful and sunny. And by the time we were taking pics at PJCC, it had clouded over slightly, but it worked out great b/c no squinty eyes in my photos.

The sun came out for cocktails, and I got the most amazing sunset pictures you have ever seen!
The moral of the story - weather people don't know JACK!

The Almanac said it would be thunderstorms and yucky all day - and for pretty much every weekend in August.

It was beautiful the day we got married - so the Almanac was dead wrong!
