We are going to the Occidental Royal Hideaway Resort in Playa del Carmen for 7 nights in May! We were going to do St. Lucia Sandals and use skymiles but nothing was available using miles until October and I couldn't wait that long. Plus airfare was like $900 a person if we didn't use skymiles. So I found this resort in Mexico that looks amazing and has amazing reviews. It is an all-inclusive resort that looks way better than the Sandals! It seems a little classier and more romantic and quiet. Everything is included such as a person concierge, 24 hour room serive all water sports and they have 5 different restaurants (I think) and no buffets!! Dinner requires getting dresses and making reservations each night. All the reviews say the food is amazing and much higher standard that similar all inclusive plans. Anyway..I'm excited and had to share. Plus it is costing us the same that St. Lucia would have without airfare and our Mexico trip includes airfare so we still have our miles to use! Don't go by those rates online. I got a package deal that is about half of what each night is. I found it through worryfreevacations.com. I had used them once to book a quick trip to Cancun and it was great. So I just surfed around one day and saw it and read about it and I was hooked! I liked it because it seemed a little classier than the Sandals resorts and I like the idea of having to get dressed up at night for dinner.
