Last week Kelley Blue Book, an auto-information company, released a survey of new-vehicle buyers who had visited its website; respondents said the No. 1 attribute of SUV drivers is that they are 'family oriented,' not self-oriented.
I'm family oriented and so what if I don't want a minvan.
DH says he has no time to volunteer because he has to work in order to afford the SUV. HA!!!

I'm too selfish to voluteer. I'd only volunteer if there was something in it for me. Like maybe I'll volunteer at Home Depot if I can get some free house stuff for my efforts... oh, I guess that defeats the purpose of 'volunteer' work.

I can do 'barter system'...no, that doesn't count...
And I give lots of free advice to brides on the BHB forum...that counts doesn't it? So essentially, I spend ALL DAY volunteering!!

Susan you are too funny, responding on the BHB board or any other board, does not count, you get pleasure out of surfing the internet. None of the people you give advice to are in need
You have to do something selfless and give of yourself to those that are less fortunate. Its funny you say volunteer at Home Depot, my hubby said he would want a p/t job there just to get the discounts for the home.. The things people do and think of doing.

I think when they don't ask they feel like they will bust with all the unaswered questions. I do not remember me asking a lot during my planning. I think my mind was made up on all me decisions.
When you do volunteer take pix so I can see that you did for real. Hey you can do one of the breast cancer walk, knocking 2 birds out with one stone, ie exercising and volunteering all in one shot
