We picked one! Her name is Abby and she is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel – She is 2 months and is just a wonderful little addition! Quite a handful though….Sonicstef if you need ANYTHING to make you sure of your 'no children for now' clause this would be it!!! I think we bought ourselves another couple of years on making a real baby!
Anyway = hopefully the pictures work. You guys know how much I stink at posting pics!
We were so close to buying a puppy this weekend but we put it on hold since we are going on vacation.
Tell me details - is he really that much of a handful?

Well she’s only 2 months, so you have to consider that she’s a baby in every way! But SO good. And trying so hard! I will say she’s a handful because of the constant attention. DEFINITELY do it after you go away! She came pretty much paper trained, and can’t go out for a week because she needs more shots. But there are tons of accidents. And nothing like the smell of dog poop. But she’s a dear really. I have to watch her constantly though, and am able to have her at the office which is great. But I did leave her this morning for a few hours in the bathroom with her cage at home so she can get used to being alone with only her toys, etc. and she was fine when I went to pick her up. She was sleeping. She sleeps most of the time. She basically spends most of the time in my lap conked out.
The hard part is the nighttime. They need to be in a crate/cage. She loves it in there, it’s not that, but when she has to go to the bathroom, she cries and you have to get up and get her out of there fast and to the paper. That’s the challenge. She does this maybe 3 times a night, and is naturally not too into going back in the cage after. Of course she wants to play. But she gets it. Abby Quiet is pretty much all I say and I haven’t had great sleep in the past few days, but it’s worth it. They don’t’ want to have an accident in the cage, so this part of the training is really important.
Otherwise it’s worth it. She’s cute, coming to her name already and loves her toys. I am so happy we took the plunge!

She's a real cutie! Good luck. Their crying at night in the cage just breaks your heart doesn't it?? We went through the same with our dog who is now 3 1/2 years old.

she's adorable!!!!! when i got my cocker spaniel she was about 2 1/2 months old & looked almost like abby!!!

Jenny, How cute.. i have never seen a that breed of dog.. Whats the size when shes full grown?
I used to keep a tshirt of mine in the cage , it says your sent sooths them.,.I know what you mean about the nighttime.. my little one STILL does that and hes a 1yr and 5mo old!!!! I just keep his crate next to my bed and put my hand on top when he starts crying, usually he stops then,

she'll only be about 2x the size she is now. She's a peanut now - only 5 pounds. She'll get to around 12' tall or so - but she's the runt...we'll see!

its cute when they are small. one peice of advise TAKE PICTURES BY THE DOZEN, and some video if you can.. i did that with my first and i LOVE watching it , she was sooo little and cute, then i didnt do it with my second and im so upset...

What a cutie patootie! when we got a kitten in the house - the nightime was HORRIBLE! She used to paw our heads to wake us up and let her under the covers!!! Sadly she still does that a year and a half later!! But it is still adorable!!!!

I LOVE your new puppy. My FH and I are looking into finding some breeders of King Charles Spaniels. THey are not the easiest to find...could you give me the name and number of the breeder?

My cat is just turning a year next month and wakes us up every morning. She likes my face...its so cute but really gross too
