We just signed the contract on our HOUSE!

OK PULEASE....ladies were you this stressful???? The amount of money that will go through our hands within the next 2 months (closing is targeted for Nov.27) is amazing. The feeling is so scary, not to mention DH is not good at handling stress so there is a little bit of bickering going on. Is all this normal??? I think I'll be more excited when we are actually in, which will not be for at least another 3 months after that as we are gutting and redoing the entire house. p.s. yesterday was my birthday and I ended it with taking two advil to kill the migraine I had after coming from the attorney's office. Well thanks for letting me vent, wish me luck! cute that's a little cake to myself! oh and to add on to the stress, some of you know I am scheduled for surgery next month to remove a fibroid tumor that is sitting in my uterus which is the likely cause of us not conceiving. Congrats! Yes, it can be very stressful. Do a search on my name for posts back in February - April to see what we went thru - couldn't get the seller out!!! I had started my job here in LI and hubby was still in Massachusetts with all our stuff, then I had to move out of the corporate apartment and move in with his grandmother in Queens and had a 60 mile (one way) commute. Our lawyer actually had to threaten a lawsuit to get her out of the house - it was almost 60 days after our 'on or about' date.

The stress can increase the bickering. Try to avoid talking all the time about the house or any of the trigger topics if it's getting bad. Be prepared for delays. It seems like most everyone has some kind of horror story about how the closing date was postponed for one reason or another. Since your closing date is around the holidays that's going to add to the stress. Luckily, you're able to do the renovations before you move in. We're doing slow renovations while we're in, and we're going to be living in a construction zone for the next several months.

But the good news is, you've found the house so it's all going to be good in the end

We signed our contract a week from today ... and wrote a check for 10% of our purchase price (our down payment) -- I can't believe it either! Wow! Yes, hubby and I have been bickering more since the whole, 'wow they accepted our bid' thing. We will be broke for a while yet - we want to totally re-do the kitchen, sand the floors and varnish, paint and clean up the house. I would love to do the bathroom too - but not sure if we'll have the money for it. Never mind that our closing cost estimates keep changing too!

It's stressful -- boy is it! I still can't believe it's happening. It was so funny when we got our credit report, my husband has EXCELLENT credit and mine is Good - he analyzed everything. Calls me up at work and was like 'did you know that you have this card, that card and this much in student loans'. I was going to throw him out the window!

He also has this house remodeling computer program that he has been drawing out what our kitchen is going to look like! I think the whole house is saved on our home computer. It's to funny -and I can totally relate!
