This is one of the most exciting things we've ever done! We went to an open house last weekend on a whim and absolutely fell in love with a home.
A friend of mine from the gym is a realtor and she insisted we look at some other places to make sure. We went to another 5 this week and then back to the one we love... and were still in love with it.
So we put an offer down!!! We actually are supposed to hear by 5 pm today... I'm so excited!!!! Wish us luck!!!
** UPDATE **
OK so about 30 seconds after I hit 'post' on this, our realtor called!!!!!!!!!!!
THEY ACCEPTED OUR OFFER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just danced around the room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't even believe it!!!!!!!!!!!! WOWOWOWOWOWOW
** UPDATE # 2 **
We're closing on July 28th!!! We locked in a 4.375% interest rate yesterday. This is so surreal!!
Inspection is this Friday and the ILs will actually come by to see the house for it since MIL has an appointment at Duke (her brain tumor shrunk 80% since she started treatment!!!) that day -- so we're very excited about it all!

The house was only $117 per sq. foot -- insane!!!!
Tracey -- that's great you had fun in topsail!!! We're probably going to Asheville in two weeks for our anniversary now but we still love the beach and can't wait to get back there at the end of the summer. Do you have pics? I'll check on FB.
I am posting a few pics now. It was so relazing, and so cheap. I only put a few pics up b/c we went with another couple, but some shared friends will have an issue they weren't invited, so I didn't put any that include them or their kids.
It is so inexpensive to rent a really nice house there, food out is reasonable but we cooked most of the time, and it is a great place to bring kids of any age. In our group the youngest kid was 7 weeks old, a few kids in the 4-8 year old range, and a 13 year old. They all had a great time.
