Michele, That is great news! Does your home need work or is it move in condition? We moved in our new home in Oct. - we closed in Aug. but it took us two months to make it move in condition - and it's been two months since and I still am living without a kitchen - It's such a wonderful experience owning a home together and buying all new stuff for it - however, it is starting to seem like the work never ends - Good Luck with yours and Congrats to you both! Tell us about it - where is it and what type of home is it?

Re: We signed the contract and got approved
The house is an extended farm ranch. It has 3 bedrooms, a 20x24 living room, 2 full baths, dinning room and eat in kitchen plus an office/den/spare room upstairs. There is still 2/3 of the attic that has not been finished and we will use it for storage. There is also a 1-car attached garage. The best part is that the house was built in 1962, but the current owner brought the property a few months ago and gutted the entire house down the beams. Every piece of sheet rock, the plumbing, electric, bathroom, kitchen everything is brand new. The house is already sided too and the driveway is brand new. There are some things I would LOVE to do, like add a farmer's porch, we need to fence the property in, a brick patio, bay windows. But those big projects all have to wait for a while. The first thing we want to do is replace the staircase going upstairs. The builder just used some stairs that look like basement stairs instead of nice, in-home ones. I now have to decide on what colors I want in the rooms. The rooms are all linen-white walls with flat white trim. So I can move in and decide later.

Congratulations! You must be soooo excited!!
We just started house hunting. It is mentally and physically exhausting...but we know our house is out there so we just keep chugging along.
These are the days that you will look back on many years from now...so enjoy making the memories!
