Just wondering if any of you newlyweds can tell me how long it is taking your photographer to make your album. Is 8 months considered long? Thanks

Re: Wedding albums
I got mine back in 4 months, but I think that was on the quick side. From what I hear, 8 months seems to be the norm.

Re: Wedding albums
Our album was ready in 3 months. It was perfect !! I think 8 months is normal too. We just had our pictures in right away and we didn't do anything too nutty!!

Re: Wedding albums
We just proofed all pictures for the album and released them to be bound. He told us it would take about 6 weeks because of the time of the year, the binding companies should not be too busy.
I'm hoping to get it back sooner for some family that will be here from out of state who couldn't make it to the wedding.

Re: Wedding albums
I, like Vicki, just proofed our album over the weekend and they said my album should be ready in 6 weeks from now. My wedding was October so in about 7 months from the wedding, I should have my album.

Re: Wedding albums
We picked the photos in December of 2001 and they came in about 6 mos. after that. However, we didn't get to the studio to proof them until the beginning of August 2002. Our album was delivered in September, but the cover had to be re-done, soooo the final, final album was just returned in January, 2003. Looooong process....but, so worth it!

Re: Wedding albums
From the time we actually picked the pictures, to the time it was ready, it was almost a year!!! But then again, they didn't put our order in for another 3 weeks after we went there because we couldn't decide on some things!!! I have to say that it was well worth the wait!!!

Re: Wedding albums
We got married in August 2002 and are still waiting for our album from the photographer. The contract did estimate 9-10 months from the payment date for all albums including parent and loose enlargements, because it's all custom made. This estimate turnaround time also depends on the number of photos you plan to have in your album and any special effects such as matting and 2 little mini photos per page in an oval. You need to read the fine print on all your contracts. We do expect a professional presentation as we waited so long. I'm dying to get our albums! However, we have our disposable camera pics to admire and adore.
Eight (8) months turnaround time for professional wedding albums is average.
