Wedding Crasher attire

My sister and I are attending a wedding ceremony of one of her co-workers. It is at the hall. Afterwards we are going to the cocktail hour (the bride said we can attend the reception but my sister feels akward because she wasn't invited).

What is the proper attire if you are only going to the cocktail hour?

Same as if you were attending the reception. You don't want to stand out as 'extras'

I would still dress like I am going to attend the wedding. Everyone else will be dressed, and I, personally, would feel awkward and out of place if I wore jeans or something. Just MO.
