wedding hair- help needed!

Hi all!

I had a hair & makeup trial this past weeekend and loved how they did my makeup & hair. I booked them but my only concern is the price of the hair person! She charges $150 for bride, $75 for anyone else who wants a blowout and $100 for anyone else who wants an updo. Do you think that;s a bit much for the bridal party? I spoke to some of them and although they want their hair done, they don't want to spend $100 for it and I totally agree with them. The only problem is that I need someone to come to the hotel where we are getting ready at (Melville Mariott) at 6 AM. To add to the complexity, I am getting married on July 4th so a bunch of people that I have contacted are going on vacation that weekend and are unavailable.

I have already contacted Jennifer from Fairytale makeovere and Denise Venti and both are unavailable.

I know a lot of you have had hair stylists who you've used or booked so I wanted to see what you thought about those prices and also get some recommendations.

Thanks so much!
Mindy

Re: wedding hair- help needed!

Those prices sound a little on the high end but not outrageous..specifically because its a holiday, you are going to pay more in most cases.

That said - i dont think you should make your BMs pay for their hairdo unless its something completely optional.

Re: wedding hair- help needed!

Oh- I forgot to mention that it is totally optional for them to get their hair or makeup done- I am just providing the person to do it if they choose to have it done.

But that being said, most want to get their hair done and some want to get their makeup done. I want to make it affordable for them to do that if they want to.

Re: wedding hair- help needed!

Those prices are a little high. I paid $100.00 for my hair and I found this little hair salon place near my neighborhood owned by this very nice Greek lady for my bridal party to get their hair down and I believe they paid $60.00. My MOH's found another place where only them two went to and paid even less than 60 dollars for their. These prices were all for updos. No blowouts because everyone had their hair washed and dry already. It's easier that way and saves a lot of time.
