Re: Wedding Invite Shadowbox...

Thanks guys!

I think #2 looks more balanced but I like having the favor included. Im totally bummed that I cant include my toasting glasses b/c they are just a tad too wide for the box. I think my MOH still has my bouquet drying in her basement so maybe I will include on of the flowers in here too.

It looks very pretty...

I have to get a shadow box for my bouquet- which dried by itself @ my Mom's house.

My invitation was professionally framed for me as a shower gift- so pretty.

But Stef- you have a great eye for this stuff- so nice.... so talented!

Great job Stef, your home will soon be looking like mine, a walking replica of our wedding day everywhere you look.

I like the first one better, becaseu I like the idea of including the favor in it.

Great idea, this is definitly an idea I will be stealing for myself!!!

Re: Wedding Invite Shadowbox...

Stef, my shuttterfly is finally working (i wasn't able to view the pix earlier today).

I like picture 2 better, and I think if you add more stuff it may look more cluttered. If you want to include a favor, I would take out one of the pictures then. The first picture looks cluttered.

Sorry. But I like the 2nd one.

Shel: Thanks

Alina: Please dont apologize! I didnt post it just to hear compliments..i wanted feedback!

I think it might look busier b/c you cant see the black space at the bottom like you can with the first one but that is definitely a consideration. If I can use a bouquet flower, i defintiely need to move something out too.

I like the 2nd one too.

Re: Wedding Invite Shadowbox...

I think I like the second one better, but I think it's because the picture is taken from a straight on position, so it's hard to compare. However, I do love the idea of having the favor in there, so for that reason I like the first one. The thing I don't like about it is the three love seals, is there enough room in the black space where the ornament is to move the ornament over, with a love seal on either side of it? I don't know. Also, I think I might like the second one more if you switched two of the seals with one of the small pictures that are on the right side, and put one of the smaller pictures in the bottom left hand side of the box where the seals would have been. Does that make sense? I think it might look more balanced, but you might like it better a little unbalanced. I swear, I think I have OCD when it comes to balance. Another idea, you could make a place card candle for you and luke and put that in the bottom left instead of the ornament, and then put the ornament in the top right hand corner. This way, you have two objects from the reception in there. Or if you get a bouquet flower, you could put it in the top right hand corner instead of the photos. I dunno....just some suggestions, take them or leave them.

Re: Wedding Invite Shadowbox...

Thanks Someday!! I will try to move things around and see how it looks. I dont think a votive candle would fit in there but maybe.

I dont want it to be even on both sides but I like to have some level of asymetrical balance if that makes sense.

Re: Wedding Invite Shadowbox...

You know, I don't know if I like the idea of a votive in there anyway, I was just trying to think of a small object that you had at the wedding. Maybe you could recreate Luke's boutinere (sp?) in silk?
One more thing, did you try it with the red seals on the left of the ornament? I think how they are now makes your eye focus on them, and not look so much at the favor, but if you switched their positions, I think the love seals would act as a nice border of sorts.
I dunno, it's hard to say from looking at pictures. I think if you glued everything down the way it is (in either picture), it would look great, I'm just looking for some other ideas.

I also say to re arrange thos seals somehow, I don't think they look good that way.

I love these crafty ideas, I am in the process of making a serving tray with our wedding invite showing on the bottom of the tray, it's really cute.

That is really nice!!
By over lapping the invite are you cutting off some of the words? Its hard to tell, If you are maybe you could shave the ends of the invites off a little to help from covering the text (no one would know but you).
Leave the Chrysler Building ornament in!!! Its cool to have something in the forground!
