Has anyone spent thier wedding night at the Garden City Hotel? They want like $500 for the night in the bridal suite, and I am not sure if I want to spend that much. Is it really worth it there? Any other hotel recommendations are welcome! Thanks in advance!

Re: Wedding Night
Just don't do the Huntingtion Hilton. Unless you want them to remember your free bottle of champange in the middle of your celebration of husband and wife and continue knocking!

Re: Wedding Night
We stayed at the Inn at Fox Hollow and it was really nice. Great service and the room was beautiful. I think ours was about $200 a night.

Re: Wedding Night
We spent our wedding night at the Garden City Hotel...my dh surprised me and although I would never tell him cause he thought he was doing like the greatest thing ever....I thought it was horrible for the money. Everything was so expensive! I thought the things in the mini bar were included at first and omg they sooooooooooo were not! Dont get me wrong, the room was gorgeous but spending all that for a room that doesnt even have a jacuzzi and for chicken fingers it was like 25 dollars...I just do not find worth it.
We didnt even take advantage of the grounds or anything..we went to my moms the next day and left on Monday for our hm (we stayed 2 nights). Beautiful room but so not worth the money at all..imo.

Re: Wedding Night
The Wingate Inn is where I stayed for about 1/2 the price of the GCH. It's great over there. Def. check it out.

Re: Wedding Night
We booked ours about 1 year in advance. We booked it at the same time we booked our hall.

Re: Wedding Night
we are staying in a suite at the GC Hotel - correct me if I'm wrong but isn't the honeymoon suite really more of a room than a suite?

Re: Wedding Night
We stayed in the Bridal Suite @ the Winngate Inn. It was nice and it was half the price than the Garden City. My make-up artist and stylist said that the Garden City wasn't much different only that it was in a fancier hotel. Check them out.

Re: Wedding Night
I booked mine a few months ahead of time. They have weddings at the Harrison House so we wanted to make sure we got a room - They also have lower rates if you book the room earlier rather than at the last minute.

Re: Wedding Night
I went online and looked at the Wingate and the Fox Hollow. They are both very nice, but I decided to book the Fox Hollow. I am strongly considering booking the Wingate in Garden City for my out of town guests, and I know I may sound like a B for saying this, but I really dont want to stay in the same hotel as our families. Am I evil for thinking that about my guests? I am planning on having a brunch on sunday morning with them, but for our wedding night and the morning after, I just want to be with my new DH. Thank you all for the recommendations!

Re: Wedding Night
We stayed at the Huntington Hilton too, in the deluxe suite. It was VERRRY nice. We were on the ground floor, and had a sliding door that opened to a little garden with a waterfall. : ) It was a great place. We had no complaints.
