Re: Wedding Regrets

My two biggest regrets:

1. Photos - I wish I was more on top of my photo list. I literally had a list of people to take photos with on my iphone that I had with me all day and didn't even think to give it to my DOC. Also, I don't think we have enough formal portraits with our family. We took some at the church after the ceremony but things went so quickly at the RH, it just didn't register to grab our families for photos. I'm trying not to go too crazy over photos, esp since I don't have pro pics back yet, but it's hard, you know.

2. I know this is a common one, but I wish there was more time to spend with family and friends. It goes by so fast and before we knew it we were already saying goodbye to our guests. Family that I hadn't seen in years, friends that literally traveled from all over the country for a day or two to be with us. I know everyone understood just like I do when I'm a guest, it just makes me sad.

There are some other things but a month out, I definitely have some perspective.

I also have to say that one of the best decisions, hands down, was not having a traditional bridal party. 3 adults that are the closest to us and four kids, including two 3 yr olds that didn't even stand up at the altar with us during the ceremony. Lol

3. I wish I ddin't feel so obligated to schmooz with people, I feel like 75% of the day evening was feeling like I was being pulled in a million directions

4. I wish I hung out with my bridal party more. If anything, they were the people that I WANTED to 'schmooz' with.

Also, I wish that I was able to get more pictures of family and friends!

Re: Wedding Regrets

Oops, I forgot another, but I'm not sure how this could be avoided--my band was AMAZING, but they played nothing I asked them to. I realized this as the night went on and I was super bummed. They were great but I made a must-play list for a reason! But they were so amazing, I still would recommend them.

this- I was so excited to dance in my dress to Teenage Dream by Katy Perry, and at the end of the night I realized they never played it!

The MC kept coming up to me and asking what song I wanted to be played (i.e. cake cutting, entrance, mother/son). I sent in all the paperwork.....so why are you asking me!!??

Re: Wedding Regrets

I definitely would have tried to remember to wear my petitcoat- instead of finding it in the hotel room closet the next morning.
I still look at pictures wondering if my dress could have looked better?

I would have requested more photos with family members from far away that I didn't get to see much of-and have tried to be LESS nervous. I couldn't eat a THING-I couldn't even swallow- I gagged.

Re: Wedding Regrets

I regret not asking for help on a lot of DIY projects, it would have saved me from being so stressed and getting migranes almost everyday. Thank you to my sister for stepping up the week before and helping out without me having to ask!

DH and I a regreted not eating more at the Cocktail hour. The Bridal attendant brought us some plates but we were too busy talking to everyone to actually eat them. I also regret not taking to food that was packed for us to go...DH was very upset with me about this. I had my MOH go back the next day but we had already left for our honeymoon so we couldn't enjoy it.

Re: Wedding Regrets

I wish I would have picked my BP better and not felt obligated to have certain people in there which caused so much stress.

I wish I did not go with the house bakery...because although it tasted good the cake looked like crap

I wish I used more of the space outdoors at my venue, and stepped foot at least for 5 mins into my cocktail hour.

I wish we remembered to remind them to pack leftover food to go since I barley ate any of my dinner

I wish we would have gotten in the photobooth more and with more groups of people. I only got in twice!

Besides that everything was just perfect.

Re: Wedding Regrets

I loved my wedding and wouldn't change a thing, BUT

I wish I was more 'present' during the wedding day. I don't know how to explain it or how I could change it but I felt I was going through the motions. Everything was passing me by. I wish I had more emotion. Towards the end of the night I think I relaxed a bit more and enjoyed myself.

My Band was great but there were so many songs I wish they would have played

I wish I had booze/snacks on the Trolley after church during the 2 1/2 hours we took pictures

And finally, I wish I took a picture with each of my bridesmaids!

Re: Wedding Regrets

NONE of my family lives anywhere close to NY (all in FL or Chicago), so I wish I got to spend more time with my family and friends that flew up for my wedding. I was running around so much and DH was dragging his feet getting ready to go to the hotel the day before the wedding that I feel like I barely saw any of them :(

I totally agree about being 'present!' I felt the same way about going through the motions, even though I had a great time. It was kinda like you couldn't live in the moment. DH said I seemed slightly off all day...it's so hard to enjoy any one single moment when everyone wants a piece of you!

Re: Wedding Regrets

Wow ... this can get long ...

First and foremost, I wish my father was alive to walk me down the aisle. I know he was there in spirit, but it just wasn't the same...

I wish I used LIW a lot longer than I did!! This site became my bible, and I wish I knew about all the forums from day 1!

I wish I had money for AJ as videographer! LOVE his work!

I wish the MC announced 'Nicole and Brian' instead of Nicole and Joe' ...

I wish we had a longer engagement so we could afford a REAL photographer (SOO not satisfied with my pics)

I wish we set a different date/time - I wanted a late summer wedding, but with Hurricane Irene hitting the next day, no one stayed for the whole wedding. Our last dance looks pretty sad on video, there's only like 20 people left, including RH staff!

I wish I made a must take photography list ...

I wish I spent more time looking at wedding day attire, for myself and the BP.

I wish I didn't sweat so damn much! My hair was a wreck after ceremony!

I wish we had a real honeymoon ... we only went to the Poconos for 3 days, and the weather was terrible, we didn't get to do much.

I wish I didn't have the insane drama at the end of the wedding (can't make this sh*t up, FM if you want the gossip)

I wish my pictures weren't so damn generic (see a pattern here?? )

As much as I would've changed, I wish I can do it all over again!!!!

Re: Wedding Regrets

I have a few:

I wish we couldve had more people at the wedding since a lot of people left early.

I wish I didnt hire F*B*B bec they forever ruined my CPs.

I wish I wouldve eaten more, if it wasnt for one of my BMs feeding me some food in bridal suite I wouldnt have ate at all.

I wish I went away for my bachelorette party

Re: Wedding Regrets

I wish I got to have a more relaxed morning. My hairdresser really couldn't get my hair right and she kept blaming me for giving her the wrong direction. She's a favorite on here, but she was really obnoxious that morning. She took so long with my hair and cut into so much of my day that it threw everyone else off schedule.

I was so tired by my reception, DH and I just wanted to go to sleep! I guess this had a lot to do with just being more 'present'
