Wedding Rings Rubbing

Ladies,

I had my 6 mos. inspection/cleaning last night and found out that my band is rubbing against my e-ring which is a problem. I have to find a way to stop it. The jeweler suggested putting both rings together permanently or getting plain thin band to wear in between. Have any of you ladies experienced this problem.

Thnx

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

Yeah I was just thinking the same thing. My rings spin around too much, (my hands are always cold) and I noticed where the prongs of my e-ring are starting to scuff up my wedding band. I want to get one of those connector thingies that keeps them together, so even if they spin around they won't rub against each other. I'll probably go to my jeweler sometime next week. Let me know if you find another solution!

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

I had my soutered (sp?) together and I love it! They look better together and they never spin!

And even better they aren't from the same place and they look amazing together and it technically isn't permanently together they can be taken apart if needed by a professional but then redoing the soutering isn't recommended.

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

I had that problem---the stones in my wedding band were cutting into the prongs on my e-ring. My jewler bonded them together (for free) and now nothing rubs against anything. The only cons to doing this are if you take them off often you are more likely to lose both (instead of just one) but since I never take mine off I thought it was a good idea to stop the rubbing.

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

Whitehall did mine. It cost 20 bucks and I love it!! Plus my ring stays so much cleaner since I'm not spinning it back up!
Plus mine is interesting also since my ering is WG and my wedding band is platnium. You barely notice the difference except the band has dings in it.

Re: Rings ~STEF~

Stef,

I was just looking really closely at my rings one day and saw that the prongs on my band was looking really rubbed and then I had the jeweler inspect it closer w/the magnifier and he confirmed my concerns.
Also my rings werent a matching set even though the look nice together. But I may have to sauter them together like the other girls, I dont know yet!! I havent been wearing my ering since I found this out

Thnx

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

Laurie, Did they solder it in front of you? I hate to leave my rings with anyone. Also do you know if they are soldered together and you need them sized (I am try to lose some weight) can it be done if they are together.
I am really thinking on doing it since you say you love yours so much.

I really do love it!
Actually I needed to get my wedding band resized and I figured since I was giving it to them to do that I might as well deal with it and let them solder it at the same time.
It took 2 days. I fully trusted the Whitehall in Pensacola because I knew some of the manager there. I went two days without my rings and that was it.

Edited to add. There is a jeweller in the Farmindale/Plainedge area who I fully trust if you need any recommendations. She is a small mom and pop shop that has been there for years

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

Thanks Laurie, I hate leaving my ring I really do. I heard a couple of horror stories. I don''t live on LI, but when we go there at the flea market inSayville there is one guy that we buy a get fixed a lot of jewelry and he does it in front of you, so I think I might get it done next time. In the summer my rings are fine but in the winter, flip away!

Re: Wedding Rings Rubbing

soldering takes 5 minutes, they should be able to do it right in front of you, I would not do this to mine though because i once in a while i wear just my band.
