Weekend getaway

Hi, can anyone recommend a place near the shore for a weekend getaway. Nothing fancy, just quiet with a nice beach. I was looking at the Jersey Shore, since LI seems so expensive. Any suggestions?

Patrick and I love Wildwood Crest NJ. It's a cute beach town, very close to the boardwalk on the Jersey Shore. it's quieter and less 'busy' than Wildwood, which is why we like it. We have stayed at the Pan American and the Yankee Clipper. Both are clean and nice, but the Pan Am is nicer. It books faster and is much more expensive, so you'd probably have better luck at The Yankee Clipper.

Cape May is also beautiful, but pricey.

I would recommend Cape May, Bradley Beach, or Spring Lake.
