Re: weight gain
I've pretty much maintained, I just make sure to stick to my usual schedule. Pack the gym clothes up the night before and go straight after work. With DH around now I feel like portion sizes are getting bigger so I am definitely watching that as well.

Re: weight gain
I gained between 5-10 pounds from the time of my wedding until a month or two ago. I finally was able to take it off. I just decided that the gym wasn't working for me and totally changed my workout.
DH on the other hand is blowing up like crazy!!!!!!!

Re: weight gain
soooooooo mad at myself. I think I gained about 6-8 lbs. I was so depressed when I brought out a pair of pants I hadn't worn in a while and they were too tight. Pissed off too! I am sooo bad at dieting- I'm much better at working out but my schedule is so wacky right now.

Re: weight gain
I need to stop being lazy and get off my butt and do something. For the past 2 months I haven't exercised but I've eaten everything in sight. Next week I'm starting my daily workouts again and cutting back on the food. I feel lousy lately!

Re: weight gain
i gained about 8post wedding....but after about a month or two of just sittin' on my butt i got myself in gear...u can totally do it!
**cardio(even if its just goin' for walks!) - high protein, fiber & only good carbs....and of course - LOTS & LOTS & LOTS of water. good snacks to help blast calories are lots of good berries (strawberries, blueberries, rasberries..i mix them into non-fat yogurt -yummy!) nuts...almonds, pistashios....cheddar cheese with fruit, etc. Dont' worry girl....6lbs is nothin! u'll shed it in no time Also a REALLY good guideline is watchin' ur calorie intake....try to stick to 300cal. breakfast, 400cal. lunch & 500cal. dinner...i read this in my fitness magazing...i did this with healthy snacks, water & cardio and dropped pounds real quick & kept 'em off....Good luck!

Re: weight gain
I'm glad I'm not the only one that's gone out of control. I started gaining just before the wedding and I've put on almost 10 pounds already. I'm trying to get back on track, but I just can't get my head into it.

Re: weight gain
I am SOOO mad at myself for gaining the weight. I just can't get myself up and going--I used to be fanatical and workout about 4 days a week.

Re: weight gain
I put on weight the six or eight months before the wedding, and then after the wedding I put on some weight too. I have GI disease and sometimes it's hard for me to eat right, and hard for me to exercise like I should. But I decided I wanted to run a 10K at the end of the summer, so I got my running mostly back on track. I didn't actually run the 10K because I was sick, but I could have. I'm back up to 20 miles a week, and hope to move it back up to 25 miles. Once I'm running that much, it's easier to lose weight, I mostly just have to make sure I don't eat too much or too many bad things. Which I crave because I'm hungry because I'm running so much more... But I've lost about 8lbs, and I'm working at it!

Watching your calories is a good idea. But I'd DIE on a 1200 calorie a day diet. Seriously. And so would a lot of active women. Cutting your calories too much is just as bad as not cutting them enough--your body will go into 'starvation' mode and your metabolism will slow down. Everyone is different, but many women will lost more weight by eating more. I was very heavy some years ago, and I lost the weight, and kept it off (except some weight put back on recently through illness) by eating real food, and stuff like real salad dressing with fat in it in reasonable quantities, so that I could avoid being hungry.
My advice is to cut back, but avoid diet foods. They don't help in the long run!

That seems so little!
I wouldn't be able to sustain that kind of diet. I'm pretty active and eat about every 2 or 3 hours. I lost weight previously by eating regular food, but cutting portions. I never believed in depriving yourself.
