Weight Loss Tips?

Hi all.....does anyone have any weight loss tips that have worked for them? I had no trouble maintaining my weight over the past two years but ever since the wedding, the pounds are creeping up on me!

Also, what is a healthy amount of weight to lose in one week?

Thanks!

cardio & LOTS & LOTS of water....water is KEY!!!

the key to keeping ur metabolism up is to constantly eat....u should either have 6small meals a day, or 3meals with healthy snacks in between. I got a lot of my meal ideas from Fitness Magazine...LOAD up on snacks & foods that actually help burn calories...lots of berries(blueberries, rasberries, strawberrys, pineapple is also a mega fat burner, etc.)Lots of nuts too..pistachios, almonds, etc....lots of protein, lots of fiber(only good carbs). Also little ways to make things even healthier...Instead of getting flavored yogurt w/all the added sugar, get non-fat plain(or vanilla) yogurt...then cut up FRESH fruit & mix it in..tastes better too! Also there are ways to have sweet snacks in a healthy way...a few choc. covered strawberries or bananas(especially yummy if u put them in the freezer!). ....just cutting back on all the simple little things makes a HUGE difference: ie:instead of american cheese opt for cheddar. If u enjoy ur junkfood(like me lo) buy the 100calorie packs...it's a great way to get in ur junkfood without packin' on the lbs.

some meal examples:

breakfast :two wholewheat pancakes topped with 1/2cup nonfat yogurt, fresh berries of ur choice & low calorie syrup (this is SO yummy and so freakin' filling!)

1 pkt. instant oatmeal with a hardboiled egg and a slice of cheddar(or a low fat cheddar cheese stick)
(breakfast is the most important...if u dont eat within an hour and 1/2 of getting up ur metabolism totally drops!)

lunch: i try to keep lunch low-carb. usually tuna on top of lettuce topped with tomato - throw in some cheddar. Thomas(enlglish muffins) actually makes these really yummy low calorie whole weat pitas...good way to get in some good carbs in a tasty way...i also like to get peanut butter in my routine....it's a good fat loaded with protien...i'll have it with an apple or spread it on some celery.

dinner: BAKED or grilled protien...whether it be chicken, fish, steak....with a good vegetable & a good carb if u must.

deserts: fat-free pudding cup w/strawberries and light redi-whip whipped creme

sugar-free jello(same way)....

above all these things WATER is so important!! just my adding water to my regular diet & just watching portion sized makes a HUGE difference. I bought one of those half gallon water jugs(look like the mini-poland spring water cooler) and i try to drink at least 1 and a 1/2 of them a day. hope this helps???

Re: Weight Loss Tips?

my DH just droped 25 lbs, in 10 weeks!

he was able to do so, by running almost everyday (3-5 miles) and a lot of cardo, but he switched it up everyday... He also ate very healthy, we kind of stuck to a modified weight watchers type of diet... we counted all his calories he stuck to about 1500, I think 1000-1200 should be a good target for you, and def drink a lot of water. Eat breakfast and have small meals or snacks through out the day. I send him to work with all differnt vegtables all cut up, and fruit he even gets a few of the 100 calorie snacks. (their high in salts some of them so we read the labels first)

Good luck, I know how hard it is, but when your body aches the first few weeks you just have to push through it. Good luck!! If you want some of the recipes FM me I'd be more then glad to send them your way!

Re: Weight Loss Tips?

I love eating healthy and working out...Actually I LEARNED TO LOVE IT! It ends up being a lifestyle. I usually start off in the morning with mix nuts and fruit. For lunch chicken and veg sometimes Ill get a Baked potato. Dinner I eat whatever I want in normal portion. If we go out to eat I ask the waiter to bring me a take out tin right away and put half my food in it before I even start eating. IT works!!!

Water only...noooo soda, juices get watered down
Snacks..nuts are great
fruit/veg
low sugur and fat free yogurts
jello/pudding
english muffins with spray butter
I learned to love sorbet or gellato!!!
If I have too...low fat icecream one cup.

I lost 10 pounds in 18 days!!!

Oh and I take super vitamin B complex...speeds up metabolism...but it makes u hungry so be careful to eat healthy foods.
