Weird emails

Weird emails

I keep getting weird emails from Capital One saying 'Your credit card statement is ready for viewing'.

I have been getting these emails for years but not sure why because I closed this card in 2004. I called them up and they could not find my account, gave them my ssn, address, and they had no idea why I was getting these emails. I cannot log in online either to view the statement because I dont know the username and password and dont remember my credit card number. Should I be concerned?

It's probably spam where people want you log in to the site so they can get your info. I've had this happen with Bank of America & Citi Bank. I don't have a Citi account, but I do have a BOA. I was hesitant about the BOA email so I called them. Turns out it was not from them. Good thing I didn't click on it to log in!

I've had that too!! The night after the wedding I had gotten an e-mail from Bank of America that totally freaked me out. They said that my account was closed (which was BAD cause we needed to use that card for our drive to Colorado). I started filling out the info they were asking for, when I suddenly realized that it was tad suspicious. Good thing I realized before submitting! Jeez. And then I changed my password just be sure.

I've gotten another one later on, but I always send those directly to Bank of America. They have an e-mail address on their website that they request all fraudulent messages to be sent.

No - I get these emails every month. And when I log into the website it is definitely the Capital One website, I compared web addresses. I sent them another email to try and get to the bottom of this!
