when you all first got married and moved into a new place did you feel like no one was calling you?? I don't know if it's because I was so used to having everyone up my butt before the wedding or if it's people not wanting to bother us because we are 'Newlyweds'???? I'm not gonna lie it's a little depressing.

Re: Weird Question....
Yes I do feel like that! But I dont mind....I need a break! If it really bothers you, you can call them! Maybe they dont want to bother you for a while?

Re: Weird Question....
I think for the first 2 weeks it was like that and then everything went back to normal.
ETA. Its even harder b/c you are sooooo used to the pre wedding craze where you were probably on the phone non stop and everyone was bothering you about something!!

It happened to me too. My friends never call me anymore because I am married. Who cares if I am married. Among single people it is like a disease

Re: Weird Question....
i def do not get as many phone calls as i once did prior to marriage and i love it. ppl normally call my cell phone anyway but that's not the case. i'm glad i get less calls. i'm not much of a phone talker anyway. it takes a lot out of me to carry a lengthy conversation.

Re: Weird Question....
its really sad though...
we have all this free time and now we do less then we did before..when we wedding planned..we still saw everything, and movies, and drinks, etc.., now, no phone call
sick to a point where i consider moving out of state. main reason why we are staying in NY is for friends/family and everything we know is here. seemly that is changing cause we dont know anything here now

Re: Weird Question....
It does happen. I lived alone before the wedding and I think some people don't call as much because where before they might just be disturbing me if it's too late, or I don't have time to talk, now they are disturbing both of us. Other people just assume that you are busy and may not have the free time to talk. Some of it is that you were talking to people so much pre-wedding that now if probably seems like no one cares by comparison.
From the other point of view, I am pretty much the last of my friends to get married. As a single person, I sometimes shied away from calling married friends right after they were married because I knew they were busy. Also, in some cases, I wasn't really interested in going out with them as a 'couple' and a few of them didn't seem to understand that I just wanted to see them solo. Not that I disliked the spouse, but just wanted some girlfriend time. And in some cases, they were attached at the hip to the new husband and it got sort of annoying. Honestly, there were some times in my life where I felt very lonely as a single person and being around a couple made me feel worse about it. Now, many of my married friends have kids, which makes them even busier, so I rarely talk to them on the phone, but do hear from them more often through email.
I guess what I am getting at is that the friendships that have lasted were the ones where both people made an effort to maintain them and there was time to get to know the spouse, but also time to spend alone together as friends. Are you calling your friends? If they are not hearing from you, they may simply be giving you some space. If they are friends worth keeping, give them a call and make plans.
