I use them as cooling racks, but have never put them in the oven. I didn't think they could go in the oven. I know that they make racks that you can put in the oven to give you more space, like this

I love those racks but I would keep them on the counter and use something else in the oven.

Re: WEIRD QUESTION

you can use them in the oven as long as theyre not coated in any kind of paint. I have pure metal ones and I actually use them when I cook chicken bc my stupid oven didn't come with a broiler pan. I put the rack (unopened) on a cookie sheet and cook the chicken on there.

There are certain ones u can use in the oven, just make sure those are the ones u have.

you can't cook bacon on that b/c that all the fat and juices will go to the bottom of the oven causing a lot of smoke......yes, i learned this the hard way last week

Re: WEIRD QUESTION

I don't think they're supposed to go in the oven, it's supposed to be after you take the cookies or whatever out of the oven.

Why don't you just fry the bacon in a pan? I've found it gets crispiest that way, and if you put it on a paper towel to cool all the fat really comes off.

I line a pan with aluminum foil and cook the bacon in the oven that way. Then once it is done I let them cool on paper towel layers and throw out the aluminum foil from the pan. Not too messy and the bacon comes out nice and crisp!
