Does anybody else 'practice' their new signature? I do all the time!! I was so used to just signing my maiden name, I feel like it is a lot to get used to signing my new name. It is not so fluent!!! As a child, you practice handwriting and learn your own signature, I feel like a little kid again!!!

I do - it's been 6 months and I still can't get used to it. It doesn't flow as well as my 'real' name. In long meetings I find myself doodling it to make it feel more natural.

I definitely had to practice and it still doesn't flow easily because I don't use it a lot! Also, my new last name has 9 letters and two 'k's in it - I don't make script k's well

Re: Weirdo new last name question...
We closed on our new house 18 days after the wedding. 95% of the paperwork was in my married name. I thought the lawyers would kill me every time I said, 'Oops, I signed the wrong name on this one.'

I hate the script K! It's impossible. Mine ends with a K and I keep messing it up.

I also practiced long before we got married. Once we did, I stopped and can't get used to it. The UPS guy always says 'so who are you today'.

I'm lucky 0 I have lots of 'e's and 'l's in my new last name so I just make a bunch of loops and call it a signature

Re: Weirdo new last name question...
i normally sign the name i was born with but with legal documents i sign with my legal name. it's only 4 extra letters but my goodness, it seems like a chore sorta. i have to hesitate a lil.. think.. 'ah yes, i still have more to write' and then resume signing mode.
