well i got confirmation

that DH's one brother who has yet to see our house or show any kind of excitement for us, well yeah he is not coming to our DU-DA-Q

im kinda beyond hurt right now! because i think ive mentioned before hooooowww many times we have been to his house. im mainly hurt because i went and practically planned it that day because i asked him ahead of time if he was free and he gave me the ok...

and to top it all off, his girlfriend was the one that had to tell me they werent coming because its her mom's bday and they are taking her out.

chris says i care to much about things like this, but i can tell he is trying to not let it bother him but it kinda does!! i wish he would just get over the being tuff and tell his brother what a crappy move that is! apparently his brothers own family doesnt come first...

and i get its just a stupid bbq but he has not even seen the house!!!

Im sorry Jess and I dont blame you, it would bother me too. Trust me on that one.
Its not just some stupid bbq, its a DUDA- Q and we are going to have sooo much fun and think of all the others that will see your house that day

You're always gonna come across people like that in life, and it does **** that it's DH's own brother.
I know it would have been nice for him to see the house and it hurts, but you're going to have an awesome time with your family and friends who are going to be there!!

Maybe one day he'll realize that its only right for him to return the favor & come to NY every once in a while...but for now, just gotta accept it & I guess maybe not go to NJ that much anymore??

i just wish maybe his family started giving more of a sh-i-t about us over here in ny!!! i know its crazy far away and all that but dude we just bought a house, it maybe not be high up on his list of important things, but me and DH think its a pretty big deal...

i mean its his gf's moms bday, let her go out with her family then, and he should go out with his!

whatever! over, it! the more i talk about the more not over it i am, so im just going to let it go before this becomes a family fued!! (i hate that i always am the one who lets things go, and tries to keep the peace, when nobody else can be bothered to do the same!!!!)

I'm sure it's nothing personal, but I understand how you feel. My 'SIL' (been engaged to BIL for over 10 years) is the same way. We keep trying to invite them over, but there's always an excuse. The last time we asked them for a good date, she told us that they're very busy on weekends. So, DH suggested a Friday night. That was no good because she gets up early on Saturdays to go to the laundromat. You should have seen the look on her face when I told her that she could bring the laundry to our place some Friday night so she wouldn't have to worry about getting up early the next day.

All joking aside, though, it does sting a bit. Just try not to let it get to you. I'm sure the BBQ will be a huge success!
