Went to Scrapbook Chalet in CSH today

what a cute store It was a spur of the moment decision to drive over with my mom today so I didn't buy anything - just wanted to check the store out. I think my mom's already addicted and this was her first scrapbooking store!

The owner (I think) we spoke with was nice and helpful - there were a few other women there cropping, and the woman gave me a schedule but there wasn't many classes yet to chose from. I believe she said more classes were being added for July and Aug. (see link below)

Her selection wasn't outrageous, but what she had was definitely very cute - things you wouldn't find in Michaels - nicer designed paper, original die-cuts, etc. No stamps though. Prices weren't bad, although I'm not sure yet what's really normal - the die cut packages were $1.50 each which I thought was reasonable.

The class I'd love to take is Intro to Scrapbooking, but it's only offered during the week - what about those who WORK?! Well, unless more classes are added I'll have to go to one of the crop classes in the evening. She said if enough people get together, you can have a private crop session for a certain fee - depending on the schedule.

Maybe we can set up a newlywed GTG over there one evening?! I think that would be a lot of fun

Teri - thanks for the link and the review. It does look cute. A NW/GTG/Crop sounds like fun!

Hey thanks for posting this review Teri ... I'd like to take an Intro to Scrapbooking, but could only take a class in the evenings as well.

The owner was really flexible and mentioned something about if enough girls got together she could give another class at another time - maybe we could do this with the Intro class. It seems pretty basic since I've already spent a lot of time researching, but it wouldn't hurt.

On her website there's a class description of an intermediate class - I'd really love to take that one too. Hopefully as her business picks up she'll add more classes to the schedule - and not between 9AM - 5 PM M-F!

I was looking at the site again. It looks like they would arrange a special class with a 5 person minimum. It seems they would do a basic intro to scrapping or any special technique people are interested in. There's an hourly fee for each person which would depend on the technique/supplies used for the class.
