We're having a Christmas party

So DH and I decided last night to have a Christmas party. I was pretty excited about it until I realized he invited about 28 people not including my friends. We live in an apartment and though I think it will hold all these people it will be TIGHT!

It's going to be a cocktail/hour duerve (sp?) party. Any suggestions of what appetizer you ladies usually like?

Keep it simple; I used to work for a company where all the officers who were my bosses, amde 6 figures YET lol when we had parties, they always requested the most basic appetizers.

Pigs in blankets..Yep ya heard me. People making 500,0000 dollars a year plus, wanted pigs in blankets..>We tried faancy hour derves and they didn't go over well.

So um I would do easy stuff to eat; Pigs in blankets which you can make urself easily; just buy little franks in the hot dog aisle or Costco and then the pilsbury frozen dough stuff like you'd use for bisquits and just wrap a little bit around each frank and stick in the oven to bake. We had these at our wedding and they all went.

You can also uy ciocktail shrimp at a place like Costco or Priceclub. WWe've done that-plenty to go around. They have a whole section of pre-prared foods. They also have cheese platters but you can make your own. I always like that; cubes of different cheeses and crackers.

If you want to get fancier but still simple, do beefsteak on toast or bruchetta on the same small little toast things.

Costco also has a ton of different appetizers in their frozen section that are delish and easy to prepare (just throw 'em in the oven) - mini quiches, puff pastry, etc. OK I'm starving right now...

Scallops wrapped in bacon is a favorite, but can be a bit expensive.
Try mini empanadas
phyllo cups filled with a mix of sauteed mushrooms and sausage, topped with some cheese.
mini quiches.

Definitely go to Costco or BJ's to get the frozen hors d'ovres and the shrimp. Cheese too is cheaper there and the variety is good.

I posted this one the other day but this is excellent & easy:

You'll need:
Aluoette Garlic and Herb Cheese spread
Salami
preztel sticks (small ones)
sun dried tomatoes- sliced ones

spread the cheese spread on the salami, place about 3 sundried tomatoes on top of the cheese....place preztel stick on the edge of one side...and roll!!!

I also made a artichoke dip for thanksgiving which was awesome and I grabbed the recipe right off the back of the liption onion onion box!!!

Apps for that size party is perfect since most people will be standing up anyway. Cosco has great pre-made apps. THey also have a yummy Spinach dip you can put in a bread bowl. Yummy! Mini hot-dogs, moz sticks, chips and dip, garlic knots, swedish meatballs, mini-pizzas, shrimp cocktail, if you have a fondue set you can always chop of veggies and bread and put that on a table for people to serve themselves... etc. Lots of cookies, brownies for dessert... Oh, and lots of alcohol...

Oh... you can even get a sushi platter.
