Were there some people that after the wedding- you said to yourself....

why did I invite them?

I am so sorry ladies, but the nearer I get to my wedding date the more and more I am becoming disgusted with people. There are some people I wish that I had not invited because they are annoying the heck out of me- by either not responding on time or adding more people to their response card. I have had to make a couple of calls reminding people what the protocol is.

Sorry for sounding so mean.

Absolutely!! I didnt have these until the wedding was over and was disguisted with their behavior on my wedding day.

The good thing is that I now know what sort of people they are and can now eliminate them from my life pretty easily.

We were good about sticking to family, close friends and a few co-workers...all that had to be invited.

Definitely! I think you find out who your true friends are when you have a wedding. For example, if you are going to be so disgusting as to hit on the girl in the white dress, then you really should not have been invited in the first place! Yes, this happened, and yes he is now deleted from our address book! However, most of the people surprised us in a good way. They danced and had a good time and were truly happy to be there for us and we were happy that they were there too!

YES And the bad thing about it was that they were part of the bridal party!!

Nope - and that's including the guests that stiffed us with any type of card or gift

We had a small wedding by LI standards and knew from the beginning we only wanted our close friends and family attending, so that's exactly who we invited. There wasn't anyone who attended that we really didn't care for....the few that were on DH's list for invitations purely out of courtesy declined anyway, so it all worked out

I have to say no to that question also.....we were happy that each of our 165 guests were in attendance .....they made our day special.

We were pretty lucky as well. There were only a couple of people we didn't want to come but had to invite because they're family, but they didn't come.

Hells yeah. One of our best men, no less!! Can you say loser?!?

DH has spoken w/ him ONCE since we got married a year and 9 months ago!! I spoke w/ his loser wife the night before DH's surprise 40th bday party LAST May - she said they couldn't wait to see us. They never showed up!! We've not spoken to them since. They don't know we moved to LI or that we had a baby!! Who needs 'em?!

Boy, it felt good to let that out!

not really...maybe the no-shows...but if I hadn't invited them there would have been other problems...like resentment...

I guess for me it would be the people in my life that cancelled the week of. Who knew! It would also be some of my husbands cousins that after the wedding we found out what garbage they are. Well, I knew, but I should say he realized.

YES YES YES............ I tried to do the right thing, but if I had it to do over again many people would not have received an invite!

Heck, there were people that as I was making up the guest list I was asking myself 'why do I have to invite them?'
