What makes you look at him and remember that he is the man you love the most and the person who completes your life?
I am asking this because lately.. DRAMA and although I know its our first year and many of us are having harshships, I think there also seems to be a trend lately of bad relationship woes. NOT sayying that anyone's problems are not very real to them and serious. However, I do wonder if on some unconcious level we are all stirring one another up and feeding off of one another to a point, if that makes sense.
I know from my own personal experience, when I am REALLY upset with my DH, not like the little vents I do here but REALLY seriously upset, I DO NOT voice it to but a few people who I trust will remind me of all the reasons I love and married this man, out of all the men I could have made a life with.
When we're all going through our individual issues, its very easy I think to swing one way or the other depending on the moods surrounding us, so i think its time for a swing in the loving direction. We know what their failings are...lets look solely at their merits for today.
Here are some questions to pormpt your responses but speak it from the hearts sister friends No need to go in order on this one.
1. Why did YOU marry YOUR DH?
2. What makes him different from any other man you know/could have married?
3. What are some of the thinsg you most love about him? Why?

Re: What are the things about your DH that you....
I love this thread!
I married my DH because 10 years ago he made me blush like no one else could. I never wanted to impress someone or catch someone's attention as much as him. He worked so hard too to be with me because I was in and out of other relationships. He would just sit there and wait for me to come back to him. When I'm cranky, tired and biotchy, he looks at me and makes a funny face to make me laugh. And then he says, 'there's that beautiful smile I fell in love with.' I love him because when we get BK and they don't put my sauce in the bag, he goes all the way back there to get it for me. Because he saves his tip money so he can buy me xmas presents outside of the budget I set. He isn't afraid to cry in front of me. Friends are important to him and he goes out of his way to be there for them. He loves my family as much as I do, if not more. When I was taking medication every night, he would bring it to me at 10pm promptly with a glass of ginger ale so my acid reflux doesn't act up while I'm sleeping. I love how he says he hates the show One Tree Hill, but when it's on, he watches intently and gets angry when they end the episode at a high point. I love that when I don't feel good, he takes my hand, leads me tot he couch, andputs my favorite blankie on me while he takes care of anything that needs taking care of. I love that he's a firefighter, always running out the door to help others. I love that he always wants more out of life. I (secretly) love how everytime I say my tummy hurts, he rubs it with a big smile because he's hoping it's a baby causing me to feel ill...because he wants kids that bad. I love how when he's having a bad day he calls me and says, 'I just needed to hear your voice.' I love that no matter how angry I get about something, he stays calm. I love that he knows he's not perfect and can admit to his flaws...and he tries really hard to work on them and become a better person. I love how I feel when I'm in his arms.
There's so much more. I could go on and on, but I'm stopping there because DH is home with din din.

Because he is the definition of the word 'man' He takes care of me and DD like no one ever could, because he isn't just rough and tough but understands that there are moments when a soft tough is needed. He loves to hug and so do I. I never had a 'what if' thought about him, everything always felt so right. I never doubt him, I always trust him and I see our future when I look inot his eyes. Yes, he is my definition of a 'man'

I love that he loved me completely, he loves my family as if they were his own, my dog has become 'our' dog and he loves her like she were his child, I love that everyone loves him as much as I do
I love the comfort I feel just being with him and knowing that he will always be there.
I love the way he always takes care of me.
I love that he respects my opinion and my intelligence and supports me in my career. I love that we are truly 'partners' and we make every decision together
I love his huge heart that always inspires me to be nicer and better to people and go the extra mile for people I care about
Oh and I also love that he cooks and cleans and does most of the chores

Re: What are the things about your DH that you....
1. Why did YOU marry YOUR DH? Cause no one else ever asked..haha...JUST KIDDING! Just before I met him I threw out my 'what I want in a mate' list and narrowed it down to just one thing...NON SMOKER. I was set up with DH on a blind date & had absolutely no expectations, especially when he described himself to me as big, fat, bald & ugly! haha. Well when i knocked on that hotel door this rather tall man with the most beautiful green eyes and adorable smile answered. As our date progressed i realized that he WAS all those things i had given up on...funny, caring, romantic, generous, believed in God, and thought i was pretty. We were so comfortable with each other and never once did i ever even question marrying him. He is the only man i ever truly trusted, even though he was living in another country the first few months of our dating...
2. What makes him different from any other man you know/could have married? He is the only man who made me a better person, and who wanted to see ME go further in life. He built me up, gave me confidence, and has done everything in his power to make MY life better...and all without ever wanting anything in return. He has helped me realize so many dreams and does everything he can to make me happy (I will have to post his vows he wrote because they were all about this)
3. What are some of the thinsg you most love about him? Why? He is extremely generous. When my friend was getting married a few years back & i told her she was debating about dresses because of money, he gave me a big chunk of change and said 'tell her this is her wedding gift from us, and to buy the dress she really wants'. It was the most selfless thing...and my friend was just so grateful. He always does things like that.
He is also very spiritual (not in a religious way, but very much about the mind and positive thinking) he does believe in a higher power. And he is always turning my pessimism into positive thinking..something i still work on every day.
He makes me laugh...he will get up way before me, and i laugh listening to him sing & dance around the house or play with our dogs...he thinks i am sleeping, but i am usually sitting in bed with a smile.
He loves me more than any man ever has. And i can be a difficult person to love sometimes..i'll admit that! Through my anger and grumpiness he still always loves me...and tells me all the time.
He makes me feel like the most important person in the world...and he cooks ladies!! (which is a good thing cause i don't!)

Re: What are the things about your DH that you....
oh this is easy.....
he's soooo even tempered. our home is very serene. no arguments. we worked out a way to simply admit to each other that we don't want to XXXXXX (clean-up, go shopping, clean-up)... and the other person just accepts it.
he's also very bright, ambitious, and a darned good scientist. His advisor (who once was my advisor too) calls us 'the Curies' becuase we seem to do all experiments together, despite having different projects
he also loves my crazy cooking (what's for dinner? jamaican, ethiopean, indian, medieval polish ) he's game for all of that. and doesn't mind souschef resposibilities.
and he loves my ultra-modern decorating style!
it's a good life

Re: What are the things about your DH that you....
It sounds so cliche to say it but DH really really is my perfect match. We truly even each other out. If he is having a bad day, Im having a good one and vice versa. So in that sense the one having the bad day is able to turn their bad day into a better day.
Also, even if he is annoying the craap out of me like no other, he still manages to make me crack a smile and laugh. He does little things that he has NO IDEA how much they are appreciated. For example, when he cooks dinner (which is regularly) he always tells me I eat first. Sounds silly but it always makes me feel special.
He is also able to get me off my 'I AM MASTER' complex and come back to reality he will tell me the truth regardless of what I really want to hear.
