Re: what are your thoughts???
no i have not had them, but i absolutely think it's true. it's very scary/sad how easily things happen... that's why i'm a firm believer in always being aware, and always keeping yourself in check. it's very VERY simple/easy for something 'harmless' to turn into something more.. ever see the movie last kiss??? good flick... there's a scene where the cheating guy is talking to his future fil & says 'I couldn't help it! we've been together for years & i've always been faithful...she was just a cute brunette! I got sidetracked..it's the first and last time this will EVER happen. I love your daughter' and the future fil says 'oh michael..u think she's the last 'cute brunette' that will pay u some attention? i STILL haven't seen my last brunette..i've been faithful for 30years...30.. u think that was easy & there was no temptation? ..and stop talking about love. Every a-hole in the world says he loves somebody. It means nothing. It's what you do to the people you say you love, that's what matters. It's the only thing that counts. '
so yes. i think temptation is out there everyday and we're all suseptable to it which is why staying grounded & honest is so important. I think the person that says 'oh i'll NEVER cheat or i could NEVER be tempted' is in the most dangerous place...u can never say never. it's important to ALWAYS be aware that it can happen..any time, any where - so u know when to say 'wow - i'm being tempted..i need to walk away.' i hope dh & i never have this come our way...we stay close to God first, and then each other and we're accountable to each other..so we hope to keep ourselves faithful for all the years ahead.

I remember that scene from that movie, it was awesome (I mean what the FIL says is so awesome - the movie in general IRKED me lol). I agree with what you said 100% spot on.

that's a really great quote. And I agree completely. Temptations will always be there, there is no escaping that. But what matters is how you respond to them. Anybody can say that they're in love, but it's how you SHOW it that counts. Ever since me & DH first became friends, I never looked at another man in 'that way', never even been attracted to any other because i know that what I've got is better. But that's not to say that temptations won't EVER come in the future. I think what Taryn said is perfect - that we need to be aware that temptation could happen so that if it does, we recognize that we need to walk away fast. DH & I talk a lot about faithfulness. It's so important for us to always be able to trust each other. We both know better than to even look at another person. Why put yourself in that kind of situation? Lots of people say that marriage takes work - and i think the whole concept of fighting off temptations & keeping faithful to one another even after many many years together is part of that.

I agree. I agree that marriage takes work, and that part of that is controlling any temptations you may have. We are all human, and it's what you DO (or don't do in this case) to show you love the other person that counts-not your words that say you love them (although it's impt to hear the words sometimes too).

Re: what are your thoughts???
i think if ppl say temptation is not a part of life that is very naive. Nobody is saying to act on temptation but to honestly think that your SO will never be attracted to another human being i think is impossible. Doesn't mean they will act upon it, but i think most ppl will be tempted at one time or another in their lives, its how you handle that situation that matters though. Even small things sometimes as a guy seeing a girl and thinking 'WOW she is hOTT' its only human that if somebody sees another very attractive person they will think they are hott. I am not so egotistical that i think DH wont think attractive ppl are hott. It's not like if somebody is in relationship, all of a sudden very hott and sexy pp wont be hott anymore. Sometimes its not even about looks so shouldnt say its just that. Sometimes its getting the attention, affection, or in guys cases the gratification they need that they are not getting at home.
I agree with Taryn, to say these things can never happen is naive and with so many ppl cheating and other situations that occur, statistically speaking it is only natural that it too will happen to those who feel this way. Just know it can happen but know how to handle these situations

Re: what are your thoughts???
ABSOLUTELY!!! I think there is temptation everywhere! It is only YOU who can act on it. It is no one else's business but your own to walk away from it.
