What did you do with all your proofs? ( especially if you have close to 1000 or over!)

What did you do with all your proofs? ( especially if you have close to 1000 or over!)

my proofs came in 2 little cardboard boxes that they barely fit in. We got rid of those & put them in one of those photoboxes with dividers, to make it easier to sort through when we made our album selections.

The box is really for 5x7s, though, they they move around & are getting warped?

I want to put them in an album, but there are over 1000 of them !

Any suggestions? Did you get several albums?
Or just keep them in a box?

I have mine in three albums...but it worked out well because first is pre-church and most of church, second is rest of church and posed pics and third is reception/dancing. They're like the 'volumes' of our wedding!

My intentions were to put them in a 5x7 album but I never got around to it. I probably will eventually pull out my very favorites and put it in one album and leave the rest in the box.

I think that's what I am going to have to do, but I can't decide what kind of albums toget, sicen I
(obviously) have vertical & horizonal pictures.

I also don't want ot put them in all the little slots, but DH says if I pick the order, he will do it.

Word of advice: make sure they're all in the correct order *BEFORE* you start slotting them in! I thought I had them in the right order, but it wasn't until I was halfway through posed pics that DH mentioned that one pic that I thought was from the receiving line was actually taken during the reception....had to redo practically the whole thing!!!

I just bought some albums in the superdrug here... they were actually the nicest and pretty cheap too. They had slots, so you do have to turn when looking at the vertical shots. And the square format pics didn't fit in there, I just have them stuffed in the back.

hee hee 'superdrug'

My pictures are 4x6 so they will fit in a regular album, I will prpbably just get the slotted ones & turn the page, b/c it is relly ore for safe keeping & reference than display.

I don't have nearly as many proofs as you do. (I would say I had about 500). My proofs were 5x5's. (However, the ones that were digital were really 3-1/3x5)

I framed some of them. Pictures of DH's parents, my parents, his brother's family, his sisters family, me dancing with dad, him dancing with mom- are now place on the top of our wall unit. I also gave them away (framed) to family members.

I made a big album that is a combination of our proofs and the pictures that were taken with disposable cameras. I used these plastic pages from Exposures (exposuresonline.com) that have sleeves you put the pictures in. I trimed the proofs to 3-1/2x5 with a straight edge and a razor. It's hard to explain in words, but I am very happy with the results. It contains about 500 pictures and I also included our invitation, program, samples of the tear packs, swatches of the bm, fg and my dress, our menues.

I gave each mother the proofs for their side of the family that were left over. And then I still have a small number in a box.

I worked very hard at getting this done because I just didn't want it to be something that ended up gathering dust, uncompleted.

Mine are still in the box!! Eventually, I'll put them in albums - I think it will be easier to put in the old school type albums - when you lift up the sticky paper and just lay the pic down on the page since they are all different sizes.

I have both film and digital proofs that are two different sizes, but they both fit in a regular album I got at Michaels. I have a little over 1000 proofs and they fit in 3 full albums and worked out to kind of be 'volumes', as someone said before.

My 'best' proofs are in an album, the other ones are still in the 5x7 boxes with the album. The ones that I used for my 'wedding album' I made a collage using the actual proofs which is hanging in my living room.

I've had all intentions of putting them in albums but they're still in the box.

I had about 1000 proofs both 5x5 and 4x6. I put them in 5 albums that hold 5x7 sized photos! It was a LOT of work!

Mine are in three albums. After I get my album and get back those proofs, I will probably decide to frame some of those and I think I am going to do a scrapbook of all of the artsy pics that I didn't choose for our album (my dress hanging, my shoes, the bow on the back of my dress, my bouquet, my FIL's hand on the top of his cane)

However I can't find 4 of the same album in decent condition.
Mostly I have been lookign in drugstores.
I looked quickly in Target, but that was before I really knew what I wanted & now I can't really shop there untill I resolve anotehr issue I am havign with them. ( and its not near my job so I can only go on weekends anyway)

I really want to get them this week, & I don't know where to go.
Bed Bath & Beyond? that might be expensive though?
