if it's a common brand (like lenox or something) try to return them anyway at their store or at a department store. you should at least get store credit.

If all else fails, I try to find a friend who'll take it! You'd be surprised...one person's garbage can be another's treasure.
My sister and I regularly exchange gifts that we've received that we don't like. I just gave her a pair of candlestick holders that I disliked and would never us; in return, she gave me pillows that someone gave her for Christmas that don't match her decor...

I try to return them at any store that sells it or I try to regift or if I wouldn't even regift it b/c its so bad I ebay it!!!

Alina - I am laughing at your message because I hope you are not refering to your Secret Santa gifts
I usually hold on to them for a little while (for no reason really) then throw them out. I am not a big regifter and I am too lazy to sell on ebay.

Most gifts I just throw away or give away. They tend to be really cheap anyway so its not worth selling on ebay.
I still have the Lenox frame someone gave me when we got engaged. It sells for $130 but there was no receipt so I feel like its a big waste to throw it away.

I usually give what I don't want to my Mom - but lately she's got a lot of stuff. I feel bad regifting b/c I try to buy people what I know they want - I should try ebay but I'm lazy.
