What do you guys think???

I just received a Thank You for a wedding we attended last Apr. It was a normal Thank You with the photo inside. I was however, very suprised that the bride or groom didnt write anything in it or even sign it. They stuffed a pic in & sent it on its way. I kinda think thats sort of rude. Am i crazy??? I mean a small little something is better then nothing. I dont get it.

maybe they wanted to send it out asap??i waited months from someone who didnt even send out a pic but your right they could have wrote something. i guess we know better

i don't like the 'standardized thank you's but that's me.

a lot of girls use them. to each their own i guess.

i just think a thank you note is supposed to be personal. i think back to being little when my mom taught me to do them after birthdays, etc. and made me write every card out specifically thanking that person for each particular present and why i liked it

wouldn't bother me at all. I'm not picky about thank you's.
I care more about seeing the pic anyway. I'd prob be more angry if there was no pic included.

Have you been on LIF recently? There have been a ton of threads vehemently debating the thank you cards written vs. pre-printed. It's INTENSE!


Anyway to answer your question, I was always brought up to include a handwritten personal note in all thank you cards. My mother would kill me if I sent out pre-printed ones! So maybe it has to do with how the bride and groom were brought up?

On the bright side at least you got a thank you! Some people don't even have the common decency to send them out sometimes!

Personally, I think it's rude. You should write something if someone takes the time out to attend your wedding and buy you a gift.

We ordered preprinted ones only because we liked those the best but I am also planning on personalizing each one.

i agree with Becki here. And esp since it took her 7 months to send them out it would be nice if they personalized them.
For my bat mitzvah i received a bunch of jewelry and my mom wouldn't let me wear any of it until the thank yous were written. I had such a mean mom! LOL

That's exactly how I was taught, too. I spent days writing my stupid shower thank yous!

I had a printed message and all i did was write the to and from . For close family and friends i wrote a brief message

it didn't say thank you ANYWHERE? that's bizarre. I actually think it's more rude to just send a picture - as if you were waiting on THAT instead of a Thank You for your gift.

I get realllllly worked up about these things.

Im sorry i think its nice to write personally a little something. I sure did in every 150 TY's i had to do. I also got mine out in 3 months but thats not a big deal i think as long as you TY is out within a year its fine. But for me i had to have them done personalized & signed with LOVE! lol I just think its not just rude its just lazy like they couldnt take the time to say anything at all. Thsi is JMO but i think you should definitely say a small something & SIGN IT!

I definatly agree- they should have at least signed it. I'm sure they had no problem signing all their checks!

I would NEVER EVER NEVER EVER not send a TY with at LEAST a small sentence or two of thanks for sharing the special day. To me, that is the epitome of rudeness and it's just common courtesy to write at least a sentence or two...but then again, not everyone has common courtesy as part of their daily vocabulary & morals.
