for someone who sent a check & it bounced? This was a cousin of mine & I had contacted her when it initially happened - she said to email her our address & she would send our what we were supposed to get (her bank supposedly having 'issues') Well this was 3 months ago now & still no check in the mail. I decided to let it go since I didnt want to cause a family fight over it - but now I have no idea what to write in her Thank you card....awkward to say the least!
Any suggestions??
TIA my dear friends!

Re: What do you say in a Wedding Thank you......
Did this person attend? I would probably just thank her for coming....I have a cousin that didn't give anything (and I never called or anything to double check) so I'm just thanking her attendind.

Re: What do you say in a Wedding Thank you......
People who did not give a gift, did not get a thank you card. I had a couple who make A LOT of money and said they 'forgot' to give it to us. Here we are almost 4 months later and not even a card?? Well then they arent getting a card either lol I was VERY HURT bc this was a close friend of mine. Im finally over it.
I had another person give $20....another who just gave a card- we knew had no money and we gave them thank you cards because its not all about the gift. BUT, my friend DID HAVE and just chose not to give...it was like a slap in the face. With your cousin she did 'try' and is family so I think I would just give a thank you card because it will probably just cause drama.

I sent thank yous for coming but not for gifts for those folks who came with nothing. . and boy were there a bunch, I would just write the thank you and maybe they will remember their bounced check and resend. . (of course none of my non gifters did that but hey your relatives DID at least try to gift you! )

I was initally mad with some people... but almost 4 months since the wedding, i've learned to not give a flying f anymore... and i sent everyone a ty regardless... i had 1 person who i didnt receive a gift from... not sure if it was lost or not... but i said ty for the 'generous gift' anyways... i couldnt care less... it keeps the peace

If she came I would just thank her for coming but not thank her for the 'generous gift'

My cousin did attend the wedding & so did her sister - so to avoid family drama b/c I know the sisters will talk, I just want to send a thank you - but didnt want to say thank you for your gift when 'technically' we didnt get one...oh yeah - plus we got charged $25 from our bank for a bounced check fee too

ok so then I would def. just put thank you for coming and being a part of day....short and sweet and then that will avoid drama.

I am just in the process of geting my TY cards.
I got stiffed by about 4 people out of 170.
I will send a card and say 'Thanks for coming to the wedding. It was great to share the day with you.'
I will send a TY card, but just sy thanks for coming and not much else.

i did the same.. you came and did not give a card/gift?? you did not get a thank you card from us. Here we are, exactly one year later, and the promise of 'yea, i will mail it' has come and gone......

If it's family, like the other girls say- it's best to send one to avoid issues.
But, in my situation with my ex best friend who attended with her assssshole of a BF and literally tried to ruin my wedding out of jealously, she got shhhit in the mail from me.

I would probably let it slide also and just send a thank you card saying, 'thank you for sharing our special day with us.' I am sure they are embarrassed enough that the check bounced. At least they attempted to give you a gift, unlike someone who just showed up with nothing. On the other hand, I think THEY should also try to 'keep the peace' and address what happened as well as your $25 bank fee! That would be the polite thing to do!!! You learn so much about your family and friends when you have a wedding!!

My theory is, if they did not give a gift they get a card saying thanks for coming to our wedding. Maybe they meant to give a gift or thought they gave a gift and didn't, so the thank you might be a little reminder. Besides they took the time to come, you should thank them just for that.

I am going through the same thing. But i have decided to let it go and when the time comes for me to send out a TY card to them, i will add something nice and say like we had a great time with you guys, glad you could come.
It sux but I realized that i should let it go and their friendship means more to me than money.

I agree that we at this point are glad that they came and it's not so much a $$ issue. but it's only become a $$ issue when we get charged a fee for their bounced check - that still leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth - I know it sounds bad - but even though she's family & all it's still hard to let that fact go.

Thanks we had a few of these guests and I was not sure what to do regarding the thank you note. Yes I am annoyed these people did this.
