What else can I wear with this skirt????

I bought a black skirt almost exactly like in the picture*, it fits amazing. My only thing is what kind of shirt do I and can I wear with it. I was looking in magazines to hopefully get some ideas but it seems that every time they show a black high waist skirt, it's with a white business like top There's gotta be some more interesting tops to wear with it, anyone have ideas or better yet picture examples. I don't want this skirt to be one of the gazillion things that I love but yet builds up dust in my closet with the tags on it because I can't find something to wear with it... Thanks.

i love the way it looks with a fitted t shirt or a fitted tank but it has to be SUPER fitted otherwise it looks like you have old lady boobs and your skirt is holding them up LOL

Hmm maybe I should have bought it in a color or denim...it looks so much less business like in those pics you have. Love the yellow belt with it, but I like the bottom look also.

lol you might have a great concept there for older women. No need for a push up bra when your skirt can push them up for you!

I have a skirt similar to that and the reason ist generally shown witha close fitting structured shirt is because its pretty much 'sexy secretary' wear. You don't wnat too much sex appeal on top because the high waist and snug fit make it super sexy as it is.

Stick with either:
* short sleeved or sleevless button fronts BUT look for feminine details like satin, or interesting sleeves-puffy sleeves are big this year. Express has cute ones and in patterns too like lepard or zebra which adds visual interest. I have a sheer button front that ahs these blousy sleeves. its amde of shiffon so I wear a cami beneath and it looks so femminine. I also have a lace shirt with a high victorian type ccolor and ribbond etail from H&M and i werar that with a cami beneath.

* a silk/satin cami with some embellishment at the neckline or none at all tucked in, and then a matching cardigan or shrug left open over it. Mandy moore did something like that and it looked great.

Found this link-they show the girl wearing the white shirt but they do mention other thhings you can wear. Belts seem to be a really good accessory too.

Yeah, I agree. The skirt is super sexy on it's own so you want to keep the shirt simple. I just bought one in white and I feel very Sarah Jessica Parkish whenever I wear it!
