DH and I went hunting for a couch last night & we went to about 4 stores- in not one were we greeted when we came in- so rude.
DH is so bad, we were leaving MACYS and there was a guy by the door (who did not say good bye or good night or anything), so he yells to me- I hope they dont work on commission because I really wanted that $5000 living room set. the guy's eyes rolled into his head lol
anyone else or just me?

I know, it's like they do not even want your business anymore. In this economy, they should be BEGGING for it.
I get treated very nicely at the manicure salon, maybe I will just give them all my money from now on.

nobody cares anymore about anything.....its a very sad state people are in and we need to turn things around

See that is the kicker, bad economy means fewer people buying so therefore more service should be given to guide customers to ANY purchase so at least something is sold. I mean look at the golden days of department stores, you were welcomed at the door, asked if you would need any assistance with out being pestered and Thank you for shopping and people spent less years ago! Now you get nothing, your on your own or met with rude people.
I realize now you have more temp's working due to the holiday season and i was one of them and I worked extra hard to be the nice person because it is a stressful time but there are fewer jobs out there so these temps should realize they can easily be fired/replaced nad to start stepping up!

that happens to DH and I too, and it's sooo frustrating! Sometimes I think it's just because we look young, so maybe they think we're not serious buyers and just window shopping or something. I once spent about an hour in a furniture store looking at every single couch, and even measuring them with measuring tape to see if they would fit in our living room, so obviously I was a serious buyer and not just window shopping. The entire time I was there, no one asked me if I need help, not once!!! I ended up leaving and buying our couch elsewhere.
