What is something that...

Makes you nostalgic of a speciific childhood memory? Or remidns you of feeling goof and happy at a specific point in your life?

I am drinking KOLA Champagne soda today cause I was at my parents place int he Bronx this morning taking care of school business and I ran into the bodega. This soda always reminds me of sumemrs in El Barrio (Spanish Harlem) with my grandma. I think piraguas, those cheap 25 cent italian icies and playing in the hydrant when someone opened it because we didn't have sprinklers.

Its SOOOO sugary and bad for me yet I'm happy today because of the memories.

I also love this one shampoo and body wash that DH found in our closet when we cleane dit out. We usually use one brand for everydya but we bought this for our vacation to the Outer Banks a few years ago and have kept it as our 'vacation' body wash and shampoo wherever we go.

Wenever I smell it I remember sitting on our balcony drinking beer and doing nothing while we watched the water, or vacationing in Mexcio and Dominican Republic...always helps to relax some of my tension.
Anyone else?

piraguas.......omg i LOVE me some piraguas. would look forward to trips to my grandma in the bronx on trinity ave to get some.

for me any time the bbq is going...its like a reminder of being a kid. my dad LOVES to bbq and in the summer time that is all we ever did. just bbq every day.

the chime of Mr. Softee always brings me back too.......no other soft serve ice cream truck will do!!

smelling a crayon box reminds me of the first days of school when i would get such a high from that chemically smell!!! also if i ever have elmer's glue, to this day, i loooove to slather a coat on my palm and peel it off....ahhh to be a kid!

and although i haven't done it in years, washing a car by hand would bring back such fond memories cause my dad used to take my brother and me (on the hottest summer days) to any alley that had a fire hydrant open and make us 'help' him wash the car. it was always so much fun!

loL Melissa. YES! The softees chimes. We used to RUN when we heard that. Even now if I have soft serve it has to be Mr. Softee and its not even good ice cream and expensive for what it is. But I remember begging change from my grandma to get a small cup with vanilla and rainbow sprinkles.
