What is the best compliment you have ever recieved?

This is a toughie. I'm going to have to really think about this one.

Probably a compliment that was given to me by a nun that I consoled after her brother passed away in the ICU in a hospital in Queens while I was doing my surgery rotation. He came in with a lot of problems and the doctors operated on him for a very long time but then he developed multiple organ failure His sister, the nun, would come and visit him all the time and I would sit and talk to her and explain every detail of his situation to her. She was the sweetest lady. (I'm crying right now just remembering her ) The day her brother passed away, she was on her way to the hospital to visit him. I was standing by his room when she arrived at the ICU and as soon as she saw my face ( I had been crying) she knew. We ran towards each other from opposite sides of the ICU and hugged for a very long time. I spent a lot of time consoling her after she had said her goodbye's and that's when she told me - She said that I would make a wonderful doctor because of my humanity and compassion. I will never ever forget that. I've always admired doctors that sit and talk to their patients and make them understand their conditions. Compassion is so incredibly important in medicine and I'm thankful that i have that personality trait.

Well, I'd have the say the best compliments I've received have happened once I've become a teacher. My absolute favorite was from a father after our spring concert. I told him how much I adored his daughter and that I hope she wouldn't change - still be bubbly and into performing, not getting all hung up on what people think of her (she's in 5th grade and still hasn't hit the self consciousness yet). And he said 'Well hopefully one day she'll be just like you, in front of all those kids, making them just as excited about performing!'

oh gosh and how could I forget the card I received from a 1st grade parent...I was bawling reading it, how touched they were that their daughter loved music so much and was always coming home singing the songs. I couldn't believe that what I did could be that important for parents to notice!

lol on my wedding day---one of the best compliments was from my niece, who was my FG and was 3 years old at the time:

'Titi--you look like a QUEEN!'

and then she said 'And I'm a princess'
