What is the best piece of advice youve ever been given?
I have two:
Forgive but never forget!
Always be nice to people on your way up because you may have to deal with them again on your way down

im not sure, i have to think on that one...
its probably advice about forgiveness, not holding grudges, forbearance, not wasting time being angry.
and also to just live in the moment!

this isn't advice that I've received but this is a personal mantra that I live by:
Be happy and look for the positive in everything that you do and everything that happens to you. If its not there, then try to change it. If you can't change it, then don't waste your time worrying about it. Just realize that it's out of your control and don't dwell on it.
Living by this mantra makes me the incredibly optimistic and happy person that I am. I don't agonize over the things I can't change, I accept them and move on and I'm much happier for it.

Fortune cookie but I love it lol and its EVEYWHERE now and I bougth a frame that says it:
LIVE LAUGH LOVE
I think its pretty self explanatory and its soemthing I tell myself when I feel liek the world is overwhelming.

The first one reminds me of a quote I read ina book once that amsued me because an elderly neighbor of mine used to say something similar to me:
'You don't have the sense God gave Little Apples.'
It was one of those 'bits of advice' that should have been offensive but I always grinned and he'd HARRUMPH me to death.

OOO i LOVE THAT< it's kind of offensive and cute at the same time!!!!! My Dad had a million of 'em; and he was known to invent quite a few good ones too!!!

Never forget to tell people you love that you love them, because you never know if something will happen and you will never see them again
I learned this after my close friend who I had an argument with died 9 days after my 22nd birthday. You never know what God has in store and there is nothing more important than to make sure those you love remember that you are loved!
Oh, and never burn bridges with people....you never know when it will come back to bite you in the butt!

my favorite is the grass isn't always greener on the other side.. I'm always in such a rush for things I don't have yet, and when I get there, its never what it seemed. Just be happy with what you have.

I think the last one is a great one heather. So many people forget that i think in the hustle and bustle. I try and remind myself of that one all the time.

I have 2 also:
1. work hard, play harder
2. No one can make you feel inferior without your consent (Eleanor Roosevelt- so not really advice, but words to live by!)

words that i always live by ' Life is short, death is long' so simple yet it always seems to remind me not to dwell on things,worry, or be miserable, .. you can spend so much energy on the negative and waste your life away.
it gets me through everything and give me a positive outlook on life. and anytime life gets hard, i think of all the other people in the world that have it much harder than me.....
