What is one of the CRAZIEST things you have ever done?
LOL you ladies know I love stories-it’s the writer in me. So I’m asking for one of your CRAZIEST stories though if you have more than one, post that too! It can be but does not have to be, sexual in nature. Mine isn’t lmao. Just something that still makes you green sheepishly to this day like OYE I CANNOT BELIEVE I did that!
Ok here is mine…Its long but funny lmao. My aunt and momSTILL shake their head at this story...
I was um 20 years old? Something like that. Anyway I was working at FAO Schwartz-small one in the Wesychester Mall in White Plains. Super expensive toys, snooty customers, underpaid staff..lmao yea ya get the picture.
Anyway I was working the reguisters and this FINe guy walks in-looked like an Abercrombie model except for the fact he was wearing a paramedic uniform. He was buying a stuffed puppy and when I started ringing him up, he started chatting me up despite the fact he was obviously buying the dog for someone else. Finally he admitted it was for his g/f and I teased him all coy like lmao and as he is leaving he gets a call they had an emergency stop to make. So I wrap it up quick and hand him his dog. And as he’s leaving, he turns all cockyish and says “Hey, well if ya ever need a paramedic, you know how to find me. Just call 911.” He winked and walked out.
So I go about my duties till later when I ned to ring someone up. After 30 seconds of not being able to do it, I figure out why…I was stuck in my last transaction..HIS transaction!!! LMAO I FORGOT TO HAVE HIM PAY FOR THE DAM DOG WHICH WAS 45 BUCKS!!!!!!!!
Ok so now I am freaking because FAO was going bankrupt and any loss was taken out of our checks and my checks were meager at best. So I am telling my assistant manager in the back, practicing my cardiac arrest and she tells me “well at least he was cute.” Im thinking yea he was but CRAP and then.a lightbulb went off…. Can ya guess what I thought of?...

YEP. I remembered his parting words and before jenny could ask me what I was doing, I picked up the phone and dialed. It was on speaker so she could clearly here when the dispatcher said, “911 what is your emergency?”

As Jenny is gaping at me, I draw a deep breath and the dispatcher repeats himself. So I say “Well its not an emergency..well it is to me but probably not to you but it REALLY is to me because Im going to be killed if I don’t fix this:
LOL I’ll be paraphrasing this a little cause it was so long ago but convo went something like this:
Dispatcher: “Ma’am? If this is a prank call that ois a felony in the State of NY.”
Me: “Noo! I mean its not a prank call! This is a real emergency because my boss is going to kill me because its been a bad few days and I’m sooo dead if I don’t fix this!”
Dispatcher:Ma’am? Someone was murdered?”
Me: “No! I mean not yet. No not a murder.” DEEP breath. “I work at store and a really cute Westchester paramedic came in to buy a toy for his g/f but he was flirting with me and…”
Dispatcher:interrupting. “How do you know he was a paramedic for Westchester?”
Me: “Well he was wearing a uniform and had his partner with him and his walkie talkie thingie went off while he was checking me out and I heard him say he was on his way. So I’m assuming he was going to his next emergency.”
Dispatcher:'I see.”
Me: “Yea, so anyway he was buying this puppy and I got distracted and he took it without paying for it…”
Dispatcher: Interrupting again. “Ma’am he STOLE this dog? What breed it is? The police will need a full description”
Me: (having thoughts of the police breaking down his door while he’s in bed with his g/f and the stuffed puppy and arresting them both) “Oh NO! Don’t call the police! I mean you kinda are the police and I called you but No police! He didn’t steal it. He just forgot to pay because he was looking at my butt and he wasn’t thinking of his g/f I’m sure let alone money and I forgot to charge him and now he has my dog but it’s a plushie. You know, stuffed. Fake. I work at Fao Schwartz.”
Dispatcher:: (He was sooo quiet bu this point lmao like his breathing deepened like he was trying not to laugh but I heard laughter in the background and snorting so I think they had me on speaker or something. Jenny was just shaking her head) “Ok ma’am. Can you give me a description and time this occurred?”
Me: “yea..about 5’10, nice muscles, great smile with dimples but he’s a PARAMEDIC for crying out loud. They all kinda have the same uniform thing going on. He was um..wearing a stethescope? He was in whatever time it was) at the Westchester Mall.”
Dispatcher: (still all calm) “All right ma’am, we will contact you in a little while.”
Me:(all professional now lmao) Thank you very much.”
So I hang up and Jenny is just staring at me. I shrug and go about my business So like ½ hour later, my Manager calls me over the intercom; (tough black lady with a Yonkers accent lmao who could kill you with a look) and says “Jennifer, there is an Officer O’Malley on the phone for you.”
I freak out. “OH MY GOD! I told them not to call the cops! OMG OMG!” So I go running over as she gives me THAT look lmao and start rambling to the cop who stops me in mid-sentence and says “Jennifer, its ok. We found the paramedic and he’s on his way back to pay for his dog!”
-dying- My paramedic came back all sheepish and cute, paid for his dog and introduced himself-his name was Bobby. He was still fine, but I never called 911 again to look for him and he didn’t make any more suave comments. –rolling-
Oh and I didn’t get written up cause I saved the company money and they had fodder on me for months lmao.
