'they' say no later than 3 months. Do a few every night... you'll be surprised how quick it is to get it done.

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
I agree with Sassy, do a few every night while watching TV or something. Realistic is hard because some don't get their TY pics [if that is what you are doing] right away. I got married 10/13 and got mine out in January and I wanted it earlier but I was waiting for my pics.

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
I actually got ours done really quick. I made my own thank you cards so I filled them out before I got the pics, then just slipped the pics in the card and sealed the envelope!! I think Ours were out by Thanksgiving!

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
The quicker you pick you bring in your proofs to your photographer the quicker you'll get the thank you cards and wallet sized thank you picture. We got our proofs two weeks after the wedding and we didnt waste time in choosing our pictures for the albums so 4 weeks later we went back and 2 weeks later we had our thank you's. We got married on July 6, 2003 and our thank you's were all out by the end of September. Our albums and Videos won't be ready until the end of November. But the thank you's are always ready faster.
However I still havent mailed out my thank you's to the vendors...shame on me...LOL i wrote them out and mail them tomorrow.

I was an aoctober wedding and vowed to get them out before XMAS card season began. Like the girls say do a few every night, while watching TV, etc.

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
I know people that have done it 2 years after. And I know of some couples who have never sent out thank you's which to me is in poor taste. How do you not send out a thank you to your guests for their wedding gifts. I'll admit for my bridal shower i never sent out thank you's but my mom attached little thank you notes on the party favors which she wrote out for me (my shower was a surprise) But i dont know maybe it's just me.

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
We got ours out in 5 weeks - I correctly guessed that writing all those cards was a chore that I wouldn't want dragged out so we took care of them all one Sunday afternoon.'They' say 3 months, but I think anything less then 4-5 months is reasonable, especially this time of year and the holidays rolling around the corner.
IrishTracy - we don't have a year to send TY's, our guests have a year to send a gift.

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
I wanted the 3 month mark too because like Bedda, I don't think people should wait but I had a slow ARSE photographer and I picked out my pic right after I got back from my honeymoon!

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
IMHO, no later than 3 months from the wedding date. I think (check with Emily Post) that etiquette states you have up to one year to send TY cards to guests before it becomes rude.We sent ours 3 months after our wedding date because we were waiting for our TY cards from our photographer. If any brides had Cassarino Studios for their photographer and videography they would know how slow they are to get the finish product to you.

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
I got married in July and I just picked out my thank you picture. (It's the one in my profile) We had to proofs we just couldn't decide. Now they're being embossed which will take four weeks..So basically I'll be late..around XMAS!

Re: What is the realistic timeframe to send out TY cards?
I have heard 3 months, 6 months, and up to a year. I got married almost 4 months ago and am still writing TY notes, and we're not even sending pictures. I haven't had the time to do them during the week, but we're slowly catching up. My goal is to have them out before Thanksgiving.

I didn't even pick my photo and tell the studio yet and I've been married for 5 weeks!
