When applying for your marriage license, you will be asked to write your new name on it. After you receive the marriage certificate (2-3 weeks after the wedding), then you go to SS, DMV & passport. Credit Cards you can do over the phone.

I got married in July...and didn't start changing things until March...so its not a big deal if you wait
