What is your pet peeve work related

A pet peeve (or pet hate) is a minor annoyance that can instill great frustration in an individual.





Well I am a Police Officer and my number one pet peeve work wise is........................................................When people 'misplace something' and they want to report it as stolen!!!!!!!!!!!No theft just lost property!!!!!!!!!!!

Um since Imdoing reception work now if would ahve to be people who give me a hard time because they think they are important. Like:

Him: 'Well he knows who I am.'
Me: 'I understand that sir but unfortunately I do not and i need to be able to tell him whose calling.'
Him: 'This is ridiculous.'
Me: (thinking-You ain't kiddin JERK!)

Teacher-Parents who think that their children are PERFECT, meanwhile they were just beating the SH*T out of another student while his friend held him down!!

Example. I come in before 8am every day. Sometimes I have meetings before my secretary comes in. (She comes in at 9:30). It doesn't matter who calls, she will probably tell them, 'Oh, she hasn't come in yet.'

Even if I haven't, DON'T SAY THAT! She knows better.

Once, she told someone I was at lunch. (I wasn't mind you, but she just doesn't pay attention). That same person called back 2 hours later and she told them AGAIN that I was at lunch. Thankfully that wasn't a client.

Biggest Teaching Pet Peeve: Students who do no work all quarter and then want extra credit

HAH I had that one...Had a KINDERGARTNERTHROW A CHAIR AT ME and then throw everything he could at me AND other students as I tried to get the out and his mom when called claimed it was because I was a racist....mind you I was the same 'color' as the kid...

I'm an admin for a design & construction dept. for a Wall St. firm.....one of my many pet peeves is when my boss stalks me for his reports. Every month they're distributed no later than the 10th.....why oh why does he stop by my desk at least once a day from the 1st through the 10th (or until he gets them at least) to say 'how we doing on those reports????' geeeeeee......'we' (meaning ME) would be great if I could just focus and not have to chat about them instead of actually WORKING on them. Being in a support role for an entire department takes its toll b/c they all think that whenever they give me a project that it's the only thing I'm working on and I can drop everything to help them!!! lol At least I know they do appreciate me, but I'd appreciate if they left me alone!!



And let me just say I have a HUGE amount of respect for all the teachers out there!!! my sister is a teacher and some of my friends as well....the stories I hear are just insane!! I know it can be rewarding, but I think the way things have changed has made teaching a truly difficult profession!! kudos to all of you for having such patience!!

wow!!! so after she told them you were in the bathroom, did she give them voicemail or make them hold??? I'm sorry I have to ask, but figured if she was that goofy to tell them that in the first place, who knows what else she did!! I was a receptionist at my first office job, and I never said such things!! I don't understand why some people don't use their head.

There are a lot!

My biggest one is dealing with people that need an answer to their question yesterday... This involves an initial phone call - which, if not answered, results into company-wide stalking and interuption of meetings for a not-so-life-ending question that has to be handled NOW.

Then, you spend a ton of time getting the best possible answer to the question and communicate it back and they decide they want more so they call someone else (boss, other coworker) in which it ends up getting directed back to me anyway.

At least when this happened last week, the person in question spoke very highly of me to my boss, it was someone else who wasn't directly related in my conversation who decided not to contact me.

I also hate when a peer asks you a question and it's not something related to what you do. When you tell them that - their response is well, can you ask them, I'm busy (with a very rude tone)? And you try to be nice and say ok and then the other person will not give you what the first person wants and they get mad at you...

I am a real estate receptionist & my number one annoyance is people who feel the need to be rude to me for things I just have no control over
