Hello everyone! I got married on Oct. 20th and now I guess I get to join this side! I am very excited about being a newlywed, however a little sad that the wedding and all the planning is over. Anyone else felt this way?

Re: What now????
I feel the same way - more because my day to day job is quite dull and I feel like the wedding gave me a creative outlet than actually wanting to go through it all over again.
So I will probably redesign my website and keep coming to this board as a distraction.
I think post wedding blues are very natural.

Re: What now????
Accoring to Oprah's show this week, 95% of brides go through depression after the wedding is over; so you are not alone.

Whew!!!! That's great to know! I was doing fine until I came home to have dinner with my parents and to do the laundry (our washer and dryer aren't hooked up yet as we are doing major construction!) I really miss the planning!!! I never thought I'd say that!

Kelly .. you'll phase out of that. I think I was to busy with school and work to miss the planning. Although I'm glad that I did it and the wedding was beautiful, but I was really looking forward to being a married lady!
How was the wedding though? I must of missed your review on the bride's board ... I don't really go there often! Did the WM turn out to be wonderful?
Welcome to this side and CONGRATULATIONS!

Re: What now????
I must be in the 5% thank goodness. I enjoyed our day immensly but I would not want to do the planning all over again. I wanted my life back to normal, no more appts, no more to do list, no more what's left to be done. I am sure it will pass soon. Enjoy your life as a married woman, help the ladies on the other side, now that you do not have to plan your wedding anymore

Cira .... I haven't had the time to review the WM yet. Sorry! I promise to get it done this weekend! I've just been too busy.... I thought it would end once we were married!
Thanks everyone! Kelly

Re: What now????
Kelly- I felt like you did alot when I got home. I felt kind of sad. It takes a little time, but you will get back in the swing of things. I got married over two months ago and I feel I am back to my life. It does feel good.

Re: What now????
I am really loving married life, but a friend of mine just got engaged and I am all excited for her but feeling down because I want to be engaged again! It's sad to say that you will never get that 'OH MY GOD! I'M ENGAGED!' feeling again.
but: now it's time to look foward to BABIES! Anyone thinking of this now? How long are you going to wait?

Re: What now????
I'm SLIGHTLY sad but for the most part happy that it's over. I planned for over 1 1/2 yrs, and it really started to dominate our lives. I wouldn't have changed a thing, and I'm glad all my work paid off, but I like having my life back!
We got back from our honeymoon about 2 1/2 weeks ago and I'm still trying to catch up with my mundane things, but I like it
But, as others said, it's not yet over - there's still the lingering gifts (we received another one yesterday!!) and TYs to be sent out, albums and video to be finished, etc.
kelly4 - As for babies, we need a house first, but I'd love to start trying within the year

Re: What now????
Teri- best of luck to you in finding a house! We bought one while we were planning a wedding and it was so much fun, a lot of heartache, and stressful! We were let down so many times. We closed on our house in July and my DH moved in right away. I just moved in. We have gutted the house in July and are still under major construction! We won't be done in the neer future and therefore I also am putting off babies. Right now I am just thinking about how much fun it will be when we finally do have them!

Re: What now????
Keylly4---we have the same annivesary, but I got married last year!! Congratulations and welcome to the 'other' side! The feelings that you are mentioning are very normal and will get better with time. Maybe you and your husband can start a hobby together---it was hard for me at first too, but before I knew it, I was back in my old routine again and then my husband got accepted into a post-doctorate research position, so we had to sell our house and move to another state--all in the matter of 6 months!
Enjoy this precious time with your husband, because when kids come into the picture, your alone time with him will never be the same!
