so during our wedding and the whole no cake fiasco, the manager at the veneitian assured us that on our 1 year anniversary the bakery sends a fresh topper of your cake. like a replica top of the one on your wedding...
she made it seem like this is what they do, not just because they gave our cake away... our baker was the rolling pin bakery, anyone else use them that heard of this?
my question is...how do they know where to send it? i dont know if we ever gave them an address?? should i call the bakery?? call the venetian?? just let them send it. this is kinda important to me because on our 1 year anniversary i rather eat a replica of what my cake was (how it looked and flavors) instead of eating the frozen top of the cake that wasnt realy ours!

I would call them! Don't wait until your anniversary for a piece of cake to show up and then it doesn't! Give them a call and see what they say - specifically the person who verbalized that you would be sent a replica of your cake top.

I say they should send you a WHOLE cake and have part for just you and then a big party!! def take action ahead of time. . like a 'just checking in'
also didn't you move since then. . it would be a REAL bummer if they sent your cake to your old address and they ate it!!!! two times. . no way~!

call the bakery or even go there and be a squeaky wheel and remind them of what happened on your wedding day.... whose fault was the cake, the venetian or the bakery...
whoever was at fault should buy you a whole cake

i dont really know who to blame? the bakery maybe for not properly labling it the pignetti/duda wedding, the venetian for umm giving the wrong cake out, or the dummy bride who didnt say anything till after it was eated that that wasnt their cake! i think i will give the bakery a call first, cuz the venetian made it seem like that was something they normally did...
and yes we did move and i would die if our cake got eated twice!!

omg that's terrible that happened to you. i hadn't heard about getting a replica of the top tier for the first year anniv thoug. i think calling the bakery would be my first choice though!

Jess....call the Rolling Pin and let them know you moved.
When we went for our cake tasting, we filled out a card with our address on it. Kind of like they would mail it to us as a reminder about the cake on the one year anniversary.

ugh what a pain in the neck! i called to get my address they had on file, changed cuz we dont live there anymore...and the woman i talked to was soo not understanding!
she kept telling me that they send a card to you address about ordering a cake, and then you have to pick it up. and i kept telling her but the address you have onfile we dont live there anymore and she kept saying its not going to be delivered!
so they took down my address and hopefully it gets filed!
kinda annoying that i have to go to east seatauket to pick it up! tho! dont even know if its worth it!

If you don't think they will keep your address on file, then when it comes around to your anniversary, call them and remind them.
Maybe when it's time to pick up the cake, you guys can look for a park up that way, and have a romantic picnic lunch and your cake for dessert! Make a fun day out of it considering you're sort of far away.
