Ok, maybe I'm just feeling a little down today but I feel like I need a change in the hair department. I'm definitely due for a cut and it's just not healthy lately at all. It's so dry. Was thinking of cutting it shoulder length (even though DH really doesn't want me to). I have no idea if I should layer or not.
I am hair styling challenged; cannot blow dry or straighten my own hair if my life depended on it. I always love the way my hair comes out after they blow it out at the shop but for some reason when I try it, it's just frizz. Really want to get a wig at this point

I would say keep the length and get a layer. As far as blowing it out, you should get a flat iron, it is so much easier!!!
I know Steph (fallinlove91407) got fabulous cut from Denise Venti and I believe she got a lesson on how to style it. FM her, I'm sure she would give you the info! I loved your hair on your wedding day, but I know how you feel when it's a bad hair day.
Actually, you know what, I had cuteauburnininny (Jenn) cut mine and DD's hair, and I loved it!!! I bet she would help you out too. She works in Patchogue. Good Luck!!

I would say cut the length and color it slightly darker; that always works for me. I love it when its highlighted but after a few months of color on color starts looking damaged even though it doesnt feel damaged. When I went a lil darker, everyone I knew started saying how great my hair looked. I do NOT suggest you go as short as me because most people can't handle the super short cut. But I think take off three inches maybe; enough so all the dead ends are off and then layer the heck out of it. Even if you don't chop it, change the color. Look at Heather-from blonde to brunette and it looks SOOO much healthier and fabulous!
Darker colors work for autumn too and then in the summer you can lighten up again. I love hair lol. Its the ultimate acecssory! Do you need help finding shoulder length hairstyles that make you feel froggy?

Thanks, guys for the info. I would love to go darker with my hair ( I love how Heather's came out). And Jenn, much as I would love to, I would never look as hot in short hair as you do!! But I think you're right about taking 3 inches or so off. I just want a style that I can take care of-just use a flat iron on it so it's shiny & straight every day.

I trim ym hair regularly because I HATE the way it looks when women have beautiful long hair to their butt and 6 inches or more is stringy and damaged looking. Keep it trimme regularly and easier to grow out though doesn't seem that way.

You're so funny-like he always says when I ask him 'It's your hair.' Ok, I'm going to try and get an appt. because I think I at least want to get it colored.

I really like this style-maybe a little longer in length for you though. When you layer your hair makes it a little less busy so blow drying is much faster.
I sue this stuff by John Mitchell :Skinny Serum' its ina plastic and green bottle. GREAT stuff. Just one little pump down gives you enough for your hair after you blow dry it. Helps add shine and keeps it straight.
I dont usually use hair stuff cause gives me flakes but this doesn't.

I love the last picture; that's how I wish my hair would always look. But I usually look like Jennifer Garner in Pic#3. I was just looking in my album of pics from my hair trial before I highlighted my hair. I do like it darker.

You can do the last picture-If you have hair like jennifer, just have them layer it in longer layers and angle them back a little.
I have a straigening iron that i love; 15 bucks but it works great. My stylist uses the same one and mind you its a very ritzy place; Evangelista's in White Plains NY. But she liked it because its inexpensive and heats up great and dosnt burn your hair. Its working great for me. I ordered it from Folica.com.
