Do you think black pants and probably a black top is too dark for sat afternoon? what would you wear?

no what you have planned should be fine. It's winter there's no such thing as too dark although I do always like to mix up my black pants with some type of colored top.

Thats what I would wear,...if you feel its too much black change the top into a nice sweater with more color
I was at a brunch shower this weekend and me and 10 of my friends all work some version of black and white mostly black pants and black and white tops...we looked like a white house/black market ad

black pants sound fine--but maybe adding the black top might be a teeny bit too dark--maybe a top with some splash of color in it ?

i agree...i'd do the black pants with a colorful top. All black is a little too much for the afternoon imo. but hey - whatever works!
