'What this website means to me'...beyond weddings!

Just thought I'd start a thread on how great it is that we have this site, and how far BEYOND 'weddings' and 'newlyweds' our discussions have gone... Its nice to know that we have eachother to come to, we are all in the same (or close) stages of life, close neighborhoods (hey we even ask eachother about local sales !) and we can all relate to eachother in one way or another...(it's a GIRL thing !)

Its funny how from wedding planning, to Newlywed life, this website has been around for us through thick and thin ! When my husband now still sees the LI WEDDINGS on the computer, he thinks im still obsessed with wedding planning, he just doesnt understand the bonding that goes on here !! and when I try to explain, he just nods his head and says 'yeah, yeah, you and that wedding stuff' LOL ! Can anyone relate ?? Maybe they can rename a section and just call it Long Island CHAT ?.....ahh, as long as we have a place to chat, what does it matter ?

I totally agree with everything you said. My husband rolls his eyes when he sees LI Weddings on the screen, because he thinks I'm in denial that our day is over. He just doesn't understand the support, warmth and friendliness that we have here. I'm glad to have 'met' you all! : )

Mine too.....

My husband says the same thing. He says the wedding is over, why are you still on these websites?
He says I should go into being a bidal planner, because I obsess over weddings, and did ours.
I still enjoy coming here, and it makes me feel good to help brides to be with some advice and vendors who I happen to recommend. It makes me feel good.
Im so thankful for this website, and the other wedding site, because you girls were my savior.
